Strengthening Community Connections in Medicare Urgent Care!

The Dandenong Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (MUCC) recently hosted a community engagement meeting and Urgeht care clinic tour with local community leaders and representatives.

We were pleased to welcome Rob Koch Senior Advisor – Community Engagement, Monash Health, and Julie Raciti -Community Hub Leader, along with valued community representatives.

The session was led by Dr Hamid Fairoos (Clinical Lead) together with Riekie Jooste (Operations Manager), Fariha Khan (Practice Manager), Erin Roger (Nurse Manager), and members of our Urgent Care team.

🩺 Key discussions included:

• How urgent care supports both Medicare and non-Medicare patients
• The critical role of urgent care in refugee health and supporting asylum seekers, including access even without Medicare
• Educating community leaders on how to contact, access, and navigate urgent care services

🤝 The meeting was highly productive and focused on improving awareness, access, and collaboration.

Strengthening Future Healthcare: A New Partnership in Clinical Education!

We are proud to announce that Dandenong Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, located within Greens Medical Group, has partnered with the School of Nursing and Midwifery La Trobe University to provide high-quality clinical education and hands-on training for nursing students.

At our MUCC, students will gain exposure to a wide range of urgent, non–life-threatening presentations, closely resembling the fast-paced environment of a hospital Emergency Department. This is an exceptional opportunity for them to learn in a real urgent care atmosphere, guided by our highly trained urgent care and ED-experienced nurses.

Our multidisciplinary team will support students across their clinical rotation with us, offering valuable learning experiences in:
