๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Flavorful Low-Sodium Holiday Stuffing Recipe ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
Enjoy holiday favorites without compromising your heart health!
Recipe: Low-Sodium Holiday Bread Stuffing
Ingredients:
8 cups whole-grain bread cubes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 apple, peeled and diced
1/2 cup unsalted vegetable broth
1/4 cup dried cranberries
2 tsp fresh thyme
1 tsp fresh rosemary
Pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast until golden.
In a large pan, heat olive oil. Sautรฉ onion, celery, and garlic until softened.
Add apple, dried cranberries, thyme, rosemary, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes with the sautรฉed mixture.
Add vegetable broth gradually, stirring to moisten.
Transfer to a baking dish and bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes until lightly browned.

๐ŸŽ„ Heart-Healthy Apple-Cranberry Pie ๐ŸŽ„
Celebrate the season with a heart-healthy twist on a classic pie!
Ingredients:
1 and 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup cold olive oil
3โ€“4 tbsp ice water
1/4 tsp salt
4 apples (sliced)
1/2 cup dried cranberries
2 tbsp honey (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
Mix crust ingredients until crumbly; add water to form a dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
Toss apples with cranberries, lemon, spices, and honey; stir in cornstarch mixture.
Roll out dough, fit into a pie dish, fill with apple mixture, and bake for 45โ€“50 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Enjoy a slice of this festive, nourishing pie!

๐Ÿช Heart-Healthy Gingerbread Cookies: A Holiday Treat ๐Ÿช
Enjoy festive flavors without compromising your heart health!
Recipe: Heart-Healthy Gingerbread Cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup honey
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices.
In a separate bowl, beat butter, molasses, and honey until smooth.
Add egg to the wet mixture and blend well.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Divide dough into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes and place on baking sheets.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are firm.
Cool on wire racks. Enjoy!
