5 Tips for a Standout Dental CV
Whether you’re applying for a temp role, a permanent position, or your first dental job, your CV is your first impression — make it count. Here’s how:
Tailor your CV to each role – Don’t send a generic CV. Highlight the skills and experience most relevant to the job you’re applying for.
Highlight clinical skills and software knowledge – Mention specific procedures you’re confident in (e.g., implants, surgical extractions, orthodontics) and software you’re proficient with (e.g., D4W, Exact, MacPractice).
Include achievements, not just tasks – Show how you’ve added value in previous roles. For example, “Improved patient flow efficiency by 20%” or “Trained three new assistants in clinical protocols.”
Keep it concise and easy to read – Use clear headings, bullet points, and a simple layout. Hiring managers often skim CVs in seconds — make yours easy to digest.
Proofread – no typos – Spelling mistakes or grammatical errors can leave a poor impression. Take the time to double-check, or ask a trusted colleague to review.
