This week's guest on Talk All Things with JP was Nicky Long, CEO of Guide Dogs Victoria, an organisation that’s been supporting people with low vision or blindness since 1957. While many of us think of guide dogs, their work goes far beyond that, helping people build independence and confidence in everyday life.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been nominated, and named a finalist, in the Equity & Inclusion category at last nights’ City of Casey Community Awards.

But the truth is, this recognition isn’t really about me.

It belongs to our students who show up each week, step outside their comfort zones, find their voice, and back themselves, whether that’s on the mic, behind the scenes, or creating something they never thought possible. The effort, courage, and growth we see in our radio and podcast sessions is something special, and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.

This nomination wouldn’t have happened without them. Not even close.

They are the reason. They are the impact. They are the story.

I’m just lucky enough to witness it.

Thank you to everyone who supports what we do, and to the students… keep going. You’re doing something amazing.
