This week’s headlines have been heavy.
Self-kindness matters most in times like this and it doesn’t mean ignoring reality - it means treating your own nervous system with care while you engage with the world.

Self-kindness can calm your nervous system, reduce anxiety, interrupt negative self-talk, strengthen emotional resilience and remind you that your wellbeing matters, not just what’s on the screen.

For a moment, pause the scrolling. Take a breath. Speak to yourself with the same care you’d offer a friend. You deserve that. Always. Self-kindness is essential.

And remember, if things feel too heavy, we are here to take some of the weight.

We are here to hold space, to listen, and to support anyone impacted, directly or indirectly, during this difficult time.

The holidays can be joyful - and overwhelming.
Between family expectations, social pressure, and a full calendar, it’s easy to push past your limits without realising it.

This is your reminder that your wellbeing still matters during the holidays.
You’re allowed to set boundaries, protect your energy, and choose what feels supportive for you, even if others don’t fully understand.

Whether it’s saying no, stepping away from draining conversations, taking a rest day, or leaving early with a simple “I’m heading off now, thank you for having me,” your needs are valid.
Small, intentional boundaries can make the season gentler, calmer, and more sustainable.

Save this post for when the holidays start to feel heavy, or share it with someone who might need a reminder to prioritise their mental health too.

When life feels overwhelming, your mind and body will often ask for pause long before you realise you need it.
Rest isn’t giving up 💙
Rest isn’t falling behind 💙
Rest isn’t a sign that you’re not coping 💙

It’s your system saying, “I need a moment so I can keep going.”
And listening to that doesn’t make you weak - it makes you human.

If you’ve been feeling exhausted, flat, or stretched thin lately, taking even a small step back can help your nervous system reset.
A slow morning. A quiet 10 minutes. Some time outside away from screens.

You deserve some space for your nervous system to rest.

If you’d like support in understanding what your mind and body are trying to tell you, we’re here.
Bulk-Billed therapy from anywhere in Australia. Email us on info@mehelp.com.au to find out more and send this post to someone who needs a gentle reminder that rest, is strength. đź’™

Distress often doesn’t begin with a crisis - it builds quietly, sometimes over months or years, long before someone feels able to ask for help. Many people carry emotional pain far longer than they should, and too often, support isn’t reached for until things feel overwhelming.

This is why early mental health care matters. Not just to ease what you're feeling today, but to protect your wellbeing in the long term. Regular check-ins can help you understand yourself more deeply, recognise changes sooner, and prevent that slow build-up from becoming something heavier or harder to face alone.

Just as you wouldn’t ignore a physical concern, your emotional health deserves timely care, too. Paying attention early isn’t just proactive - it can be profoundly protective 💙

Being involved in a motor vehicle accident can have a real impact on your mental health. What many people don’t realise is that state-based insurers may cover the cost of psychology sessions after an accident.

If you’re unsure what support you’re entitled to, our team can guide you through the process and help you access the care you need. You don’t have to navigate this alone. 💙

Email info@mehelp.com.au to see what support is available to you, or send this post to someone who may have been affected by a motor vehicle accident.

Last week was a big week, and even if it didn't all go as planned, you made it through. That matters.

You don't always have to push harder or do more. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause. Rest. Let the world move without you for a little while.

This week, give yourself permission to breathe, to be, to feel safe in slowing down. Because healing doesn't happen in the rush, it happens in the stillness.

A few weeks ago, our Founder and Director wrote an article for about the growing impact social media is having on mental health. As a psychologist, Phillipa regularly sees clients who arrive feeling frightened or confused after being convinced by online content that they have a condition they don’t - or missing signs of one they genuinely do.

To help you navigate what you see online, here are 5 things to look out for when scrolling through mental health content. đź’™
