Whilst the term may not be used diagnostically, many still use the term to describe their condition. Aspergers continues to be widely used and understood by many as a condition that largely impacts the understanding of social norms.
This may include struggling with social anxiety, difficulty with social nuances and understanding sarcasm to jokes. Some may find it difficult to regulate emotions or understand emotions of others. Aspergers has many traits similar to ASD which is part of why it is now referred to as ASD level 1.
π To show awareness and support, today I simply wear two different types of socks or shoes to celebrate the uniqueness of those living with Aspergers and highlight both the talents, strengths as well challenges.
