Do you ever find yourself needing an instant energy shift?

🤦🏽‍♀️ Not every day works out as planned. In fact most days will throw us a curveball of some kind. Whilst having a morning & evening practice is a valuable and deeply nurturing and supportive self care commitment, we are still living a human experience that shifts those feelings quickly when we realize how out of control aspects of our life and the lives of those we love, can be.

🙋🏻‍♀️ So if you’re in need of a quick pick me up, a calming of the central nervous system, a conquering of the fight, flight, freeze response that makes us so reactive then a very simple intentional few breaths will do wonders.

Place a hand on your heart, (this simple act inspires a deep sense of connection with self and feelings of care and comfort) and simply breathe.

Hold the intention to calm your agitated feelings, soothe your heightened emotions, slow down the overactive thoughts and just settle into your breath.

Close your eyes if you can and
breath in for a count of five,
hold for a count of three and
breath out for a count of seven and
Hold for a count of three

Continue this breathing for up to ten rounds if you can, but even one round of this intentional breathing will shift your emotional state and help you to calm your nervous system, and help you feel in control once again

To enhance the effects, and intensify the results, grab your favourite essential oil, (I have three in particular that I love for these moments, Frankincense, Balance or Wild Orange. Frankincense is deeply nourishing in those moments when I am feeling particularly triggered July events out of my control. Balance is perfect to bring you back to yourself when you’re caught up in outside drama and Wild Orange is deliciously uplifting and you cannot help but smile when inhaling that citrus aroma.)
Simply pop a couple of drops in your hands, rub them together and hold them over your mouth and nose and take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Massage the residue into the back of your neck and along the inside of your arms and then it’s time to breathe, reset & calm.

If you knew what it meant, which would you choose? …

A little context

I hit the snooze button 4 times this morning.

Since my year of healing began in 2022, I find myself hitting the snooze button almost … no actually it’s every morning that I have an alarm set.

And it started me thinking, where in life do we consistently and unconsciously hit snooze?

Before last March I had cultivated an empowering, fulfilling and aligning morning practice that I was excited to jump out of bed and begin, each and every day.

So why now have I reverted to what so many of us do, trying to get a few more minutes of sleep?

Not once or twice, but often three times or more?

It’s ironic that what I love most about my life experience so far is the Awakenings I’ve journeyed through, whilst now, post major life shake up of 2022, what I seem to want is to stay asleep!

So today I’m choosing to get curious about my choice to hit snooze and where in my life am I actually doing it?

Hint: It’s not ever just in bed in the morning …

What does the snooze button actually do?

It doesn’t give us a refreshing burst of extra sleep, in fact, it just prolongs the inevitable, jarring our nervous system with a false sense of security that we’ll be getting more rest, which is so short lived it requires more energy than just getting up and getting started at the first sound of the alarm.

The snooze button gives us a false sense of reality that we have more time to feel more well rested but that simply isn’t true, is it?

Do we really feel more well rested after a few more minutes, again and again as we subconsciously await the next alarm with the knowledge we’re going to snooze it again, whilst telling ourselves the next time we’ll get up?

The thing about hitting snooze is, it restricts forward momentum.

Ahhh NO, actually, that’s not even a thing!

If you feel triggered, that’s ALL about you, it literally has NOTHING to do with me, being me.

Being triggered by something I say or do is happening FOR you. You get to decide if you become CURIOUS about why you feel that way, if you’ll DO the work, GROW and EXPAND into the most potent and powerful version of you

or

if you cancel me, walk away and stay exactly as you are.

Which version of you will you choose?

Double tap this one if you get triggered easily and now see it from another perspective!

When you imagine your ideal relationships, with friends, partners, with your children, your peers … What is it you hope they see in you?

How do you hope they feel about you and about themselves around you?
What’s the experience you’d like them to have when they’re around you?
What is it you’d like to hear them say about you?

Because it those very things that are what you deeply love about yourself and if you don’t yet feel that, those are the aspects of you that just need to be remembered, for you to reconnect with to guide you home.

That is a large part of coming home to the truest essence of you, to the process of self discovery and getting clear that begins your journey to being your most authentic you!

I’d love you to share this if it all makes sense to you now x

We were never meant to do life alone.

Even the most introvert among us require a level of connection with others that inspires loving relationship, laughter, conversation and growth.

A feeling of support that allows us to exhale deeply and release everything that doesn’t serve us, safely.

And to have that and experience it fully and authentically it MUST start with our relationship to self.

How we treat ourself, what we value about ourself and the boundaries and standards we create to support ourself.

When we are leading by example within our most precious relationship and connection, every other relationship starts to shift into perfect alignment or right out of the way, making room for new, more in synchronistic connections.

Try it and see. Let me know what you discovered.
