I was reviewing a fertility client’s recent blood work and it was another clear reminder of why we need to look deeper than standard GP or even fertility specialist test interpretations.
Their homocysteine was tested, but because it sat within the conventional reference range, nothing was flagged.
The issue is that homocysteine is one of the most important markers we have for methylation, DNA replication and embryo implantation.
And elevated levels, even if they still fall inside the standard ranges, are linked with infertility, recurrent miscarriage and early pregnancy loss.
This is why your preconception testing needs to be interpreted through optimal fertility reference ranges, not the wide ranges used in general pathology.
It can completely change the direction of your care.
I will be diving into homocysteine in more detail inside my Fertility Reset Workshop, along with the most common issues I see with thyroid and iron testing.
If you want to start to truly understand your preconception blood work, this workshop will give you the clarity you need.
