Red Feb ♥️

The Pace Ashy and Rezza (formerly Ashburton and Reservoir) team and clients are getting into the spirit and wearing red to spread awareness.

Red Feb is about wearing red to spread awareness of heart disease and donating to help towards heart disease research.

We see so many clients who suffer from some form of heart disease, those of which are making positive changes to improve their heart health.

Heart disease can claim the lives of up to 45 Australians per DAY (that is one every 30 minutes 🤯).

Get your heart checked, get your body moving and keep your heart healthy ♥️

If you are interested in donating, a donation can be made at www.redfeb.heartresearch.com.au/donate ♥️

Nutrition for Bone Health @ Pace Somerville 🦴✨

Our dietitian Jacqui ran an education session for our bone density and ONERO clients on Tuesday.

The session went through the fundamentals of nutrition for bone health and healthy ageing.

The session was invaluable in giving nutrition tips to best support your bones 🦴

A few clinics have lined up some education sessions for bone health and how lifestyle behaviour change can positively impact your bone density ✨

Monday morning movement 🤸

Our Workplace Health Specialist Bec lead the Programmed team in Epping through their second installment of our Backfit Program!

Our Backfit program is not just about manual handling. It’s about giving people strategies that they can use before, during and after work to reduce the risk of injury and enhance their overall health and wellbeing.

There were lots of laughs, some great questions and a room full of people committed to moving better and with purpose.

We are excited to continue working on our Preventative Intervention Programs! ✨

Everyday physical activity, like going for a short walk or playing with the kids, may provide short-term benefits for cognitive health, equivalent to reversing four years of cognitive aging. That was a key finding for my colleagues and me in our new study, which was published in the journal Annals of Behavioral Medicine.

Prior to enrollment into a study of diet and dementia risk, we asked a diverse sample of 204 middle-aged adults to check in five times per day for a period of nine days, via a smartphone application.

The study shows cognitive processing speed increased even when participants were moderately active.

✨ Social and Play Skills
✨ Communication Skills and Confidence
✨ Emotional Regulation and Behaviour
✨ Sensory Processing

✨ OT Week - 27 October to 2 November ✨

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy services aim to support individuals to achieve life goals through participation and engagement. Support and therapy explores remedial and compensatory strategies to assist individuals with returning to previous or maximal functioning, as well as recommending supports to compensate for any disability in order to enable someone to achieve their goals.

Occupational Therapy goals may be as simple as showering independently once a week, and may become as complex as returning to full time employment. No matter the difficulty of the goal, Occupational Therapy can help individuals achieve their desired function levels.
