Day 16 | Respect Is Knowing That House and Carework Is Everyone’s Job

Respect begins at home.

When housework and carework are shared fairly, it builds stronger relationships, healthier families and more equal communities. These everyday actions shape how children learn about respect, partnership and responsibility.

Creating respectful relationships starts long before big conversations — it’s modelled in the way we show up for each other, contribute equally and value each person’s time and wellbeing.

Relationship Matters supports families, couples and individuals to build healthy patterns of communication, connection and respect. Because a fair home creates a stronger community.

Day 15 | Changemakers Lead by Example
Leaders who champion respect and equality create ripple effects of change.

Did you know there has been a 56% increase in serious workers’ compensation claims for assault and exposure to workplace violence and aggression over the past five years in Australia?
This shows why strong, respectful leadership and a proactive workplace culture are vital to preventing harm and supporting safer teams.

Our consulting and training services help organisations embed safety, inclusion and respect into their workplace culture, because leadership makes the difference.

Today at 11am, the Victorian Government delivered an Apology to First Peoples for the profound harms caused by the State, both past and ongoing.

This Apology marks an important step in Victoria’s truth-telling and reconciliation journey.

Relationship Matters acknowledges the strength of Aboriginal communities and stands in support of truth-telling, healing, and meaningful reconciliation.

Day 12 | Changemakers in Leadership

Respectful leadership is about representation, equality and ensuring the voices of women are heard in every space where decisions are made.

When leaders champion inclusion, they help shape safer, fairer systems that reflect the communities they serve. This is how real, lasting change begins.

At Relationship Matters and Workplace Matters, we work alongside governments, councils and community partners to deliver prevention initiatives that support the goals of the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022–2032.

A morning of connection and change

She Is Not Your Rehab with Matt Brown at VU Werribee

Today our community came together for an inspiring She Is Not Your Rehab event with Matt Brown at Victoria University Werribee Campus. It was a morning filled with honest conversation, connection and a shared commitment to creating safer and more respectful communities.

We were proud to deliver this event in partnership with Wyndham City Council, Victoria University and Better Place Australia as part of the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Changemakers campaign.

Matt shared a powerful message about healing, accountability and the importance of creating spaces where people feel safe to grow and change. His story resonated deeply and reminded us that cultural change begins with conversations that are real, compassionate and free from judgement.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Together, we continue to work toward a future where respect, safety and healing are possible for all.

Day 10 | Changemakers at Work

Respect at work starts with equality.

Closing the gender pay gap is a key step in creating workplaces where everyone feels valued, safe and respected. When organisations address inequity head-on, they strengthen culture, improve wellbeing and build fairer futures for all employees.

At Workplace Matters, we support leaders to create inclusive, trauma informed workplaces where respect and equality shape every decision.
