The Victoria government's COVID-19 restriction has been further extended till 26/10/21, along with restriction on healthcare provision during this time.

Under current rule, we are only permitted to provide care to:
• fracture related injuries,

• injuries that impact on mobility and self care,

• surgery-related cases (awaiting for surgery, or post surgical care / rehabilitation), or

• any conditions or injuries that weigh heavily on one's mental health (self assessment)

Appointment of such (till 26/10/21) can be booked via call to our reception, 03 8627 8500.

Our online booking function is temporarily disabled to reflect this change.

If you need to see a physio, but unsure if you are qualified under current restriction, please give us a call. Our reception will be able to help answer your question and arrange the appointment accordingly.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

In order to provide an advice that is effective in addressing one’s specific needs, all the possible causes that are of relevance will need to be examined. This may include questions over pre-existing injuries, occupational duties, sporting activities, and house chores, in ways that they may provide a hint to predisposing vulnerability to particular type of mattress construction. Assessments on one’s resting spinal curvature (neutral, excessive lordosis, or excessive kyphosis), physical make-up, muscle tone, and body weight are extremely important that cannot be overlooked. One’s preference over the number of pillows and its collective height, along with previously mentioned sleeping style – all need to be assessed against the onset of discomfort (timing), area of complaint, and its discomfort / pain pattern before what thought to be an easy question can be accurately answered.

From foam, to high density foam, to Ortho foam, and now the latest gel-infused memory foam, choices seem endless. If this isn't confusing enough, how about the choice over its mattress top and fabric.

Misconception re the role of physiotherapist by general public is high, even among physio profession itself.

Apart from some mild symptoms that myotherapist or chiropractor may claim their roles in these area, along with other common injuries such as ankle sprain, rotator cuff injury, or cervicogenic headache that are frequent to physiotherapy, there are wider applications of physiotherapy by those with particularly skill set in managing chronic and complex conditions.

Athletic Bubalgia, Madelung Deformity, BPPV, Bruxism & TMJ, FAI ..etc are few of many examples that not all physio are capable of dealing with. The role of physio in these conditions is particularly significant as these conditions aren't usually treated by medication, despite the use of medication may help ease severity of their clinical presentation.

With never-ending professional development and collaboration with other medical professionals when needed, here at Primelife Physiotherapy, we are committed in providing quality care to our patients' health and well-being.
