The school year has begun and many of us are settling into new routines, getting used unfamiliar spaces, places, new friends and lots of changes.

For a parent or a carer of a child with a disability, the start of a new year can at times feel overwhelming and uncertain with a lot of information to absorb.

We have compiled a resource for you on the Disability Education Standards guidelines that can help support your child when starting their educational journey.

A Disability Inclusion Coordinator from a school in Melbourne’s North also spoke to us about how they approach supporting students with various disabilities.
