Happy new year! 新年快乐

2026 is the Year of the Horse 🐎

Georgie is excited for the new year festival in Box Hill this weekend. She's learning to speak Mandarin and has been eating more dumplings than usual to celebrate 🥟

According to Chinese horoscopes, people born in the Year of the Horse are believed to be hardworking, warm-hearted, social, eloquent and independent.

That's a wrap for VALID's Having a Say (HaS) conference 2026!

We've had an amazing time at Australia's largest disability conference at Deakin University Waterfront Campus.

A highlight for us was sponsoring the HaS's Got Talent show!

1. Video: HaS’s Got Talent winner Rory wowing everyone with his voice and ukulele on stage, with the judges to the left. Senior Coordinator Debbie from Geelong loved being on the panel 🧑‍⚖️

2. InLife client Melinda presenting ‘My own house, and MY own business’ 🌱

3. (L-R) Sarah, Belle, Val, Georgia and Letecia doing their best Beatles impression 🎶

4. (L-R) InLife client and VALID volunteer Lynne, Kim and Robyn at the InLife stand 🤩

5. (L-R in InLife t-shirts) Agnes, Amelia and Sarah chatting with people at the InLife stand 🗣️

6. (L-R) Sarah, Belle and Cobey at the InLife stand 😊

7. (L-R) Jade, Val, Georgia (back), Lauren, Melinda, Belle, Leah and Sophie at the InLife stand after Melinda’s presentation🎤

We can't wait to be back again next year!

It’s been a big 2025 for our clients! Here’s some of the highlights 🤩

Photo 1: Mark reaching the top of the climbing wall after years of showing up and giving it a go 🧗

Photo 2: Joshua’s solo painting exhibition ‘Welcome to My World’, which was a fun and vibrant window into his perspective through abstract paintings 🎨

Photo 3: James selling his art at a community market. His art is also available on his website jamesdunn.carrd.co 🧑‍🎨

Photo 4: We launched a podcast in partnership with Cameron. You can listen to the five-episode series here info.inlife.org.au/abilitysupport 🎙️

Photo 5: Neil is baking again and selling friands. We’re not entirely sure but we estimate we’ve eaten more than 350+ of them at InLife HQ. You can follow along on Instagram at 🧑‍🍳

Photo 6: David at the Victoria Police Museum, where the team tracked down his family’s service history 👮

Photo 7: Housemates Glenys (left) and Sarah enjoying a sunny day out in Box Hill at our recent InLife Tackle Free Carnival by FIDA 🏉

Photo 8: New housemate Greg (left) celebrated joining the home by throwing a winter solstice barbeque with his 5 housemates 🌭

Photo 9: Huge Cats fan Anthony (middle) cheering them on at the MCG for the grand final. He's pictured here with Oliver Wiltshire (left) and Mitch Duncan (right)

Photo 10: Anthony’s housemate Philip (with Mitch Duncan) is also a huge Cats fan and has enjoyed going to see them play 😺

We're thrilled to be part of OzChild's Wishing Tree for a fourth year 🎁

Our HQ team members could donate a present to a child as part of the OzChild Christmas appeal 🎄

Pictured is our team and the wonderful OzChild representatives who picked up the presents.

Some of our team gave more than one present, which always warms our hearts 🥰

This year’s International Day of People with Disability - Australia theme is “fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress”.

This theme is at the core of what we do. It shows up in the way people are supported, listened to and backed when things get complicated.

Partnerships are a big part of how we do this. Working with organisations like FIDA - Football Integration Development Associationand VALID helps create spaces where people can participate fully, speak up and feel genuinely included.

A big thank you to everyone in the InLife community for the role you play in building more inclusive communities every day 🤩

We’re reflecting on the important contributions people with disability make and how we can create a more inclusive society.
