📚 March Book of the Month

Gemma Gets the Jitters 💛

A heartwarming story about anxiety and nerves before trying something new. Katrina Roe explores that “the jitters” are normal, and with support, we can all be brave.

Why we love it at KidsPT: it’s perfect for starting conversations about worry, bravery, and big feelings.

🌟 What a day! We loved having Coach Alex in the clinic last Wednesday!

Alex is our Feeling Wheelie Strong group coach and a 2nd-year Speech Pathology student. She spent the day with Sarah and the team, joining in on sessions, observing, and sharing her energy.

Thanks for bringing your enthusiasm and fun, Alex – we had an amazing day! 💪✨

Today is International Wheelchair Day! ♿

Wheelchairs do more than help children move - they give independence, freedom, and the ability to join in life fully. This day reminds us of the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and celebrating every child’s potential.

At KidsPT, we support children who use wheelchairs and walking aids through both our “Feeling Wheelie Strong” group program and individual support. Through movement, play, and teamwork, children gain confidence, develop skills, and support one another in a positive, empowering environment.

Mobility matters. Inclusion matters. Every child deserves the chance to move, play, and shine. 💛

February 28th is Rare Disease Day, this year we are sharing some KidsPT community stories, from the families💜

“This is Alana, she is 20 months old and just 1 of 200 people in the world living with her ultra rare condition (that’s 0.000000025%)!!!

Rare diseases are often invisible, underfunded, and misunderstood. Medical specialists learn alongside rare patients and their families. The lack of knowledge, research and awareness is a scary path for our family.

We share our story to raise awareness, push for research, advocate for better treatments, and remind others walking this path that they are not alone.
Every diagnosis deserves attention. Every child deserves hope.

Rare is not less. Rare is extraordinary.”
- Alana’s Mum and Dad

💜 From 1–7 February, it’s Feeding Tube Awareness Week (FTAW) – a time to recognise children who rely on tube feeding for essential nutrition, and the families, carers, and clinicians supporting them every day.

Tube feeding, or enteral nutrition, helps children who cannot eat or drink safely by mouth, or who need extra support to grow and thrive. It can make a huge difference to their health, development, and participation in daily life.

FTAW is about connection, understanding, and sharing trusted information – reminding families they are not alone and that support is available.

💜 Let’s celebrate the children and families who make tube feeding part of their everyday lives.

What an incredible 3 days at our Summer Skills group 💦👏
Across the program, the group developed their water confidence, strength, coordination, regulation, communication and connection skills - all through fun, purposeful movement in the pool, and on land.

Designed collaboratively by our speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, this intensive program also welcomed parents and carers as active participants, supporting carryover beyond the pool.

The confidence, engagement and progress we saw over just three days was outstanding. Thank you to our families for being such an important part of the experience - we loved sharing it with you 💙

📚 Book of the Month: We’re All Wonders ✨

This heart-warming story follows Auggie, a boy with a physical difference who reminds us that, on the inside, he’s just like every other kid 🤸‍♀️

Through his eyes 👀 we see how unkindness can make someone feel small, and how kindness and imagination can help us see the wonder in everyone 🌈
