A message from the CEO

As I reflect on 2025, I am incredibly proud of what Fronditha Care has achieved over the past year.

This year marked another period of strong growth and transformation for our organisation. We reached $120 million in revenue, achieved our strongest financial performance to date and continued to support more than 2,000 elders every week, with the dedication of over 1,000 staff across Victoria and NSW.

Amid significant reform across the aged care sector, Fronditha Care stepped forward, expanding our services, strengthening our national and international engagement and reinforcing our role as a trusted voice in aged care policy, research and culturally centred service delivery.

We were honoured to welcome Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong to one of our facilities, to host a 26 strong Indonesian government delegation and to deepen partnerships across Greece, England and Wales, all while continuing to invest over $14m in innovation, research and future-ready care through the delivery of the Fronditha Care 10- year Strategic Framework 2022-2032 and the work of the Fronditha Care Foundation. This year we held our first, very successful, Fronditha Care Foundation fundraising event, “In Conversation with Mark Bouris”.

I was exceptionally pleased to host over 32 events this year for our clients, residents, staff and volunteers. From commemorating days of significance such as the 25 March and 28 October, days of Greek National observance to events celebrating our achievements as OneFronditha.

I have valued the opportunity to share our experiences and to learn from sector colleagues who are equally committed to culturally responsive aged care, strong governance and operational excellence.

As we navigate the evolving aged care environment, I want to thank the extraordinary Fronditha Care team, our President Kostas Livadaras and Board of Directors, the Executive, partners, members, volunteers and all the elders and their families. Together, we are building a future-ready Fronditha Care - grounded in values, powered by people and driven by purpose.

I wish everyone the very best for the season and a wonderful beginning to 2026.

On Friday 14 November, Fronditha Care hosted Dr Magdalena Simonis AM who gave an insightful and powerful session on women’s health, with a focus on menopause.

Over 50 team members participated in the session. Her insights into the signs of menopause, evidence-based treatment options, and the myths circulating in the media were particularly valuable.

Dr Simonis AM is an associate professor and leading women’s health expert and advisor. She provides holistic advice regarding chronic disease management and prevention, mental health, menopause, and sexual and reproductive health issues.

In thanking Dr Simonis, Fronditha Care CEO Faye Spiteri OAM, said the presentation was delivered with compassion and clarity, and showcased Dr Simonis' expertise, while making the topic approachable and engaging.

“We truly appreciated the valuable knowledge Dr Simonis shared and the supportive space she created for open conversation about a sensitive, personal topic.”

This is the first in a series health-related sessions for Fronditha Care’s staff, and is part of the newly implemented People Health and Wellbeing strategy.

Fronditha Care, in partnership with NNeos Kosmoseos Kosmos and OOakleigh Grammar launched Dementia Action Week 2025 with a highly engaging panel session, “An Open Discussion on Dementia”.

Panellists included Dr Athanasios Kokkinias, Psychiatrist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Secretary of the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia, Georgia Tzembetzi, Quality & Clinical Manager at Fronditha Care, Chris Dolkas, Director at RND Lawyers Pty Ltd, and Mandy Ha, Learning Designer at Dementia Australia.

The event attracted a diverse audience of 100+ participants and was delivered bilingually, with strong engagement from the floor during the Q&A.

The discussion covered a range of topics including the emotional impact of dementia diagnosis on individuals and families; practical ways to support carers; the importance of early and ethnic specific diagnosis and person-centred care; and the legal requirements to protect elders’ rights and dignity and provide clarity for families.

A key takeaway message was the need to act early on seeing the signs of dementia. And to rely on informed medical diagnosis and credible legal advice to ensure the right steps are taken to avoid unnecessary stress, financial burden and delay in accessing services and supports.

“Educational forums like this, equip families with knowledge, dignity and hope. Fronditha Care, under the auspices of the Fronditha Care Foundation, has partnered with Neos Kosmos to inform and educate the community about aged care services in light of the significant sector reforms, and we are launching a number of campaigns and initiatives.” — Faye Spiteri OAM, CEO, Fronditha Care

“Life doesn’t end when someone is diagnosed with dementia.

Dementia does however change a loved one and you have to acknowledge this and adapt to a new way of being. A dementia diagnosis does not signal the end. It's just the beginning of a different kind of life for the individual and the family and everyone needs to appreciate that dementia may impact one's personality and may cause behavioural changes but there is hope and strength in understanding this"- Georgia Tzempetzi, Quality and Clinical Manager, Fronditha Care

It was a ‘battle of the brains’ at the Fronditha Care Trivia final hosted last Friday.

Elders, from our residences and Social Support Groups, for the past few months have participated in Fronditha Care's first trivia tournament – a program that forms part of the newly launched Health and Wellbeing program .

Finalists representing Fronditha Care St Albans, Fronditha Care Clayton and Social Support Groups competed for the coveted trophy answering questions from a range of topics drawn from history, geography and general knowledge.

Faye Spiteri OAM said ‘It was wonderful to witness the anticipation and excitement of our elders and the enjoyment of everyone who participated. Huge congratulations to the Mulgrave Social Support Group who won the 2025 Trivia Tournament. We look forward to the Trivia Tournament 2026 ”.

The Fronditha Care Foundation is proud to partner with the Hellenic Museum to bring ancient Greek artefacts to our much-loved elders.

Through this innovative outreach initiative, elders at our four facilities across Melbourne and social support groups, interacted with the Hellenic Museum’s handling collection of real and replica artefacts — including ancient coins, helmets and more.

Our elders played with ancient instruments and sang a song that is touted as being the oldest surviving complete musical composition.

Faye Spiteri OAM, CEO of Fronditha Care said: “This partnership celebrates and preserves the rich cultural heritage of the Greek diaspora, creating meaningful opportunities for elders to reconnect with their roots through art, history and storytelling in a tangible and deeply personal way. It’s more than a partnership — it’s a celebration of legacy, identity and community and we are very excited by the opportunity to collaborate further”.
