Bentley, who has Autism Level 2, ADHD and Global Developmental Delay (GDD), has been out and about in the community with his support worker Kerri - exploring local parks and visiting play cafes ๐
Each of these activities brings something different to his NDIS goals, helping him grow skills in a natural, enjoyable way.
During these outings, Bentley practices:
๐ Self-care skills: following routines, transitioning between activities and building independence before and after outings.
๐ Emotional development: recognising how he feels in new spaces, using regulation strategies and working through moments of excitement or frustration.
๐ Cognitive development: learning about safety, understanding boundaries, problem-solving through new play activities and managing sensory input in busy environments.
๐ Social skills: taking turns, sharing equipment, waiting patiently and building positive interactions with peers and community members.
๐ Language & communication: using words to express choices, ask for help, share his excitement and engage in back-and-forth conversations throughout the day.
Bentley is doing an amazing job navigating the community with growing confidence - and we love celebrating every milestone with him. โจ๐
