I am a naturopath and the owner of LaVida Health. I established this clinic in July 2008. The purpose of my FB page is to educate and inspire you to be a healthier and happier version of yourself. My promise to you is to post information and tips that are valid and credible and, above all, realistic in the context of your life. Please take whatever you need from this page and share anything you think might help those you love. They may need it more than you do. I passionately believe most health issues can be improved if you spend some time getting to the underlying cause of the problem and then use the right herbs, nutrients and dietary changes to repair and restore your body's natural balance. If you are putting up with fatigue, lack of energy, insomnia, problems with digestion, menstrual or hormonal issues, weight gain, depression, anxiety, chronic illness or some other annoying health issue Ican help. The clinic is open Monday to Friday by appointment. After hours appointments are available. I try to make it as easy as possible for you to get the help you need. Appointments may be online or in person. All medicines dispensed are "Practitioner Prescription Only" which gives you a high degree of comfort regarding their efficacy and quality. Most people don’t realise this 👉⁠

It’s a common misconception that the only signs of poor gut health are digestive problems, like gas, bloating, heartburn, constipation, or diarrhoea.⁠

BUT problems in the gut can also cause or aggravate:⁠

▪️ Food Sensitivities⁠
▪️ Skin Irritations⁠
▪️ Food Cravings⁠
▪️ Mood Changes⁠
▪️ Brain Fog⁠

While there can also be other factors contributing to these issues, it’s worth considering the domino effect that gut health has on nearly everything else in the body. ⁠

I’m not saying your list should be the same as mine. ⁠

I’m also not saying there’s no room for flexibility in our healthy habits. ⁠

What I am saying is that we benefit from being aware of what makes us feel energised and grounded. ⁠

We deserve to honour our bodies enough to keep up with those things, even during the busiest times of year. ⁠

Because even though lots of people have a tendency to believe the holidays are a free pass to let healthy habits slide, I know my body deserves better and so do I.⁠

When I do these things, I’m able to enjoy time with my people and celebrations to their fullest. ⁠

I bet you've achieved more than you give yourself credit for.

We have a tendency to be hard on ourselves...always pushing or criticising ourselves for not being perfect (which is impossibly BTW).

One of my favourite tasks as a naturopath is interpretation of your pathology results (I think it might be because I was an accountant in a former life 😉).⁠

The results really need to be considered in the context of you (not the reference range). What is your normal? How does your diet impact what we would expect to see? ⁠

I've yet to have a client that didn't love having their tests explained to them from a holistic perspective. ⁠

If you don't feel yourself....don't just accept that your "tests are normal" and you should just carry on. ⁠

You deserve more!⁠
