Taj and the hook 🎣🪝
Taj visited us last month after ingesting some finishing line someone had left behind at Karkarook Park! Taj seemed uncomfortable at home and wasn’t interested in eating, and after taking an x-ray we quickly discovered why - poor Taj had a fishing hook lodged in his oesophagus!
After placing Taj under general anaesthesia, Dr Jenny was able to retrieve the hook with minimal trauma, as thankfully it wasn’t embedded too deeply. Taj has since made a full recovery, polishing off two bowls of chicken not long after arriving home!
An important reminder as to the impacts littering can have. Rubbish, especially fishing line and hooks can cause serious harm to our pets and wildlife.
