Itโ€™s International Wheelchair Day! โ™ฟ๏ธ

Wheelchairs and other mobility aids give people with disability freedom and independence to live their life on their own terms. International Wheelchair Day is an opportunity for those who do not use mobility aids to listen, learn and work towards a world where every building, street and space is accessible for every diverse need.

Wheelchairs do not define their users. Talk to them with the same respect as anyone else.

Make eye contact and speak to them. Thereโ€™s no need to crouch down or ignore.

Ask before pushing or trying to help. Donโ€™t touch their wheelchair without consent.

Donโ€™t be surprised if they stand up and walk. Ambulatory wheelchair users exist too.
