“You still have forty years left to live.”
It sounds comforting like time is abundant, like there’s still space to grow, to wander, to become.
But think of it another way
“You only have forty more summers.”
Forty more times to feel the sun kiss your skin.
Forty more evenings to watch the sky melt into gold.
Forty more chances to listen to the rain, to breathe in spring, to stand in awe as autumn paints the world in fire.
Or maybe not forty. Maybe ten. Maybe five. Maybe this one.
We live as though we will always have another sunrise to chase, another moment to love more deeply.
We postpone what truly matters, waiting for the “right time.”
But the soul doesn’t measure time in years, it measures it in presence, in love, in the depth of each breath.
What if this morning’s coffee is your final offering to the day?
What if this moment right now is your last chance to forgive, to speak truth, to hold someone close?
This isn’t despair. It’s awakening.
Every heartbeat is sacred.
Every breath is a prayer.
Every moment is a doorway to eternity.
So live fully.
Love fiercely.
Be here completely.
Tomorrow is not promised, but this moment is and it’s everything.
