At the LaoLaiLe Chinese seniors Group Christmas celebration on 20 December, the Carers Dance Team delivered a heartfelt performance of 《人到中年》.

With sincere emotion and steady, graceful movements, the caregivers brought the dance to life, earning warm applause from the audience. Their performance added a sense of joy, relaxation and heartfelt connection to the festive evening, truly lighting up the Christmas celebration.

What a heartwarming April it’s been at ANAV Care! 💛

We hosted three special team tea catch-ups for our amazing carers – and what a blast it was!

From Burwood East to Nunawading, and over to West Footscray, nearly 20 of our members joined in. We talked about dementia awareness, the latest in home care policy changes, and shared real-life experiences from the job.

It wasn’t just about learning – it was about connecting. Slowing down, having a cuppa, swapping stories, and supporting each other. A proper feel-good kind of day that brought us closer together and reminded us why we do what we do.

Cheers to the carers who show up every day with heart, passion, and kindness. 💪👵🧓

On June 25, 2024, we organized a tailored training course for our volunteers. The course titled "Why Volunteer Work is Important" highlighted the significance of volunteers in the community and within organizations. Volunteers are not only the core force providing help and support, but they also play a crucial role in fostering community cohesion and enhancing organizational service capabilities. Their participation enables us to better meet the needs of the elderly, ensuring they live in a safe, respectful, and caring environment.
In the process of serving others, volunteers also benefit by building their self-confidence and expanding their networks. Volunteering allows them to give back to society while increasing their knowledge and skills. Through volunteer service, volunteers can cultivate empathy and a sense of responsibility, improve their communication and problem-solving abilities, all of which positively impact their personal development and career.
During the course, we explained the current Australian government's "Code of Conduct for Aged Care," helping our organization's volunteers understand their work and the guidelines they must follow. These guidelines include how to respect the rights of the elderly, how to provide services safely and competently, and how to ensure integrity and transparency in the service process. This not only protects the rights of the elderly but also ensures the professionalism and reliability of the volunteers while providing services. By learning these guidelines, volunteers can better understand their roles and responsibilities in aged care, thereby providing higher quality services.
This training was not only an opportunity for learning but also a platform for volunteers to communicate and share experiences with each other. Through interactions and discussions, they could learn more about practical challenges and coping strategies, thereby improving the overall service level. We believe that with the addition of this knowledge and these skills, volunteers will be able to provide the best support for our elderly with more confidence and efficiency.

To express our gratitude to our hardworking mothers, whose selfless dedication and boundless love have provided us with the warmest and most steadfast strength in life.Nurses are the most resilient and selfless individuals in our society. Your hard work and dedication have illuminated many lives.
To celebrate these two holidays, we invited the elders to join a celebration event on May 11th. The day with the performance of sinings, dances, recitations, and wonderful band performances! Even more noteworthy, volunteers from Tianshi Care and the Chinese Nurse Association Australia, along with community volunteers, actively participated and responded enthusiastically. The volunteers' selfless dedication and contributions brought immense value and significance to our event.
