To parents watching their child struggle with the same injury again and again:
I see you. I know the frustration.
You've done everything "right":
✓ Taken them to physio
✓ Rested when told to rest
✓ Strengthened the "weak" areas
✓ Tried different shoes, braces, treatments
And yet... the injury comes back.
Here's what I've learned coaching young athletes in Melbourne:
Recurring injuries aren't caused by weak muscles or bad luck.
They're caused by faulty MOVEMENT PATTERNS that create stress on tissues not designed to handle it.
Your child rests, heals the tissue, returns to sport with THE SAME movement pattern, and gets injured again.
This is why physio alone doesn't fix recurring injuries in young athletes ages 8-16.
I wrote a comprehensive guide explaining:
- The root cause of recurring injuries
- Why young athletes are especially vulnerable
- What to look for in your child's movement
- How to break the injury cycle
- When professional help is needed
