International Women’s Day at MiCare
At MiCare we would like to celebrate the incredible women who make MiCare what it is.
Across our organisation of 981 employees, women play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care and services to the communities we support every day. In fact, women represent approximately 85% of our workforce, reflecting the strong leadership, expertise and dedication that women bring across all areas of MiCare.
Our latest Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) report highlights the positive progress we continue to make in supporting gender equality in our workplace. Encouragingly, MiCare’s average gender pay gap is 3.6%, significantly lower than many industries, and reflects our ongoing focus on fair remuneration and equal opportunity.
The report also shows strong representation of women progressing into leadership roles, with 93% of recent appointments to manager roles being women, demonstrating the opportunities available for growth and development across our organisation.
Many Australians use the occasion to acknowledge the ongoing work needed to achieve true gender equality — whether addressing pay gaps, advocating for women’s safety, or amplifying the voices of First Nations women whose leadership has long been under recognised.
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the contributions of the many talented women across MiCare, from our frontline care teams to our leadership and support services. Their compassion, resilience and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support every day.
