Covid update:

Unfortunately this infection has really knocked me flat and triggered a decent asthma flare. Speaking for very long is difficult and my airways need to heal a bit more. So I'm now planning to return to clinic Tues 24th May.

I'll be in touch personally with everyone who's appointment was cancelled or who has already made contact during my leave. If you need to get a message to me, please use the clinic mobile 0481 431 333. Written communication is easier than voice at the moment!

I'm sorry to announce that my luck has run out dodging Covid 19 and the clinic will be closed until Tues 17th May. The plan is to re-open Wed 18th of May, but the final decision will be based on health advice.

I will contact everyone who may have been exposed to the virus. Thankfully this is only three customers and three staff. You will also get a text message if you have an appointment before May 18th or have already left a message and are waiting to hear from me regarding an appointment. As soon as I'm on the mend, I'll make contact to see if your want to reschedule for next week.

I realise the last month has been chaotic with me only getting one week of work done between taking leave and now being in isolation and apologise for the inconvenience to many. Let's hope it's smooth sailing from here!

Just letting you all know I'll be away on holidays from Tuesday 19th April returning to clinic Tuesday 3rd May. You can leave a voicemail or send a text to 0481 431 333 if you'd like to book an appointment after May 3rd and I'll get back to you a few days before my return.

If you need help before May, you could try Maggie at Fluidity Myotherapy in Viewbank, Sally at Strive Myotherapy in Eltham, Colin at Eltham Remedial Massage or Brad at Performance Healthcare in Diamond Creek.

Merry Christmas everybody!

FYI, unfortunately I'm fully booked until Christmas now. I'm starting earlier or finishing later each day this week to fit as many people in as possible.

Booking an appointment at Eltham Myotherapy from Friday 22nd October

For the people who have already made contact and the people who had their last appointment cancelled due to lockdown, I’ll be making contact with you across today and tomorrow. I’m still at home for those days, so it will be easiest to call/sms the clinic mobile on 0481 431 333 or
email on enquiry@elthammyo.com.au
rather than using the landline, if you’d like/need to pre-register for an early appointment.

I’m aiming to have all those pre-booked appointments organized by Thursday, at which point I’ll open the online booking system. If you can’t find a time that suits, please call or text 0481 431 333 and let me know what you’re looking for as I may be able to swap a blocked-out cleaning time or break so you can get a time that suits best.

If you have any specific needs around infection control or would like to know how the new clinic space will be managed to minimize risk, you are also welcome to make contact and have a discussion about what’s possible to meet your needs.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and will do my best to get everyone a timely appointment. With patience and kindness I’m sure we’ll get the job done!

Finally the news has officially arrived from the Department of Health!

Myotherapy will be re-opening from Friday 22nd October.
We’ve made some changes during the lockdown. Maggie Emmins, who has worked part-time at Eltham Myotherapy for the past four years, is starting her own practice from Mon 25th October. Karen will continue on at Eltham Myotherapy, albeit at a new clinic address.

This separation is amicable and we are both committed to continue to support each other and the community. We hope our valued clients feel they are welcome to seek care at either practice in a way that suits each individual best.

Update on offering face to face treatment

Despite best efforts to fight for your access to myotherapy treatments via communications between Myotherapy Australia and Victorian Government representatives, it seems unlikely we'll be able to offer any hands-on treatments until vaccination rates are met. We'll keep you informed as changes are announced.

In line with Acting Premier James Merlino's announcement of a 7 day circuit-breaker lockdown to address the latest Covid cluster in Melbourne, Eltham Myotherapy will be closed for face to face treatment from Fri 28th May until Thurs 3rd June inclusive.

You can call the clinic mobile on 0481 431 333 if you have a question regarding self- management during the lockdown, but we won't be taking bookings until we have a definite return date.

We appreciate your tolerance and patience during this time and wish everyone as much nurture and restoration as possible over the next week 💖

We are closed for all face to face treatment from Sat 13th Feb to Wed 17th Feb (inclusive) in accordance with the Victorian Government's circuit-breaker lock down in response to the latest Covid 19 cluster.

Sadly, but with 'an abundance of caution', we'll need to wait until Tues to hear if the Premier will remove the restriction on face to face Myotherapy treatments.

I imagine most of you have heard now that Myotherapy will return to face to face treatments with the last group of Step 3 on Nov 2nd. However, the Premier has earmarked bringing that date forward to Oct 26th if the case numbers stay low and controlled. As soon as one date starts to look the more likely, we'll open the appointment book and look forward to welcoming you so back!
