Stop blaming food for your gut issues —

Did you know, it’s actually your microbes you should probably blame.

Certain bacteria, when in overgrowth, ferment certain foods (such as FODMAPs), therefore creating gas, bloating and constipation to occur. Cutting out the FODMAP foods isn’t going to make this problem go away. It’s addressing the root cause, your microbiome!!

Want to stop reacting and limiting food? — Let’s chat x

*Please make sure to speak to a professional before doing the FODMAP diet. Emerging research has shown us FODMAP diets can actually negatively impact the microbiome.

5 Reasons Why Roaccutane Isn’t Fixing Your Acne (For Good)

Roaccutane (Accutane) can reduce oil production and shrink sebaceous glands — but if your acne keeps coming back, here’s why:

Gut dysbiosis
Roaccutane doesn’t fix imbalances in the gut microbiome — and research links gut issues to chronic, cystic acne.

Hormonal imbalances
High androgens (like testosterone or DHEA-S) or low progesterone can drive oil production and inflammation — Roaccutane doesn’t address these.

Nutrient depletion
Vitamin A derivatives can deplete nutrients like zinc, B vitamins, and omega-3s — all essential for skin healing and hormone balance.

Blood sugar issues
High-glycemic diets and insulin resistance can drive oil production and inflammation, leading to breakouts even during Roaccutane.

Stress
Cortisol impacts skin cell repair/oil production, if stress is a big part of your life and if you have acne, addressing this may help.

Clear skin is an inside job. It’s time to go deeper than symptom suppression.

Thinking about naturopathy but not quite sure if it’s the right step?

Discovery calls are the perfect place to start. These complimentary 10-minute phone chats are a space for you to ask questions, share what’s been going on for you, and see if naturopathy feels like the right fit.

No pressure, no prep—just a relaxed conversation focused on you and your health.

Sometimes we’ll even plan some testing ahead of your initial consult, so we’re already a step ahead when we meet.
If naturopathy has been sitting on your to-do list for a while, this is your sign to book a discovery call and finally tick it off. Let’s chat all things health

Feeling burnout? — it’s such a common symptom of this time of year, especially if you haven’t been on a mid year euro vacay.

Here is what I do to support myself, on a daily/weekly basis — to avoid burnout.

Daily:
Movement
2-3L hydration
Time in nature (even if it’s 5 minutes)
7-8 hours of sleep per night
Adaptogenic herbs
Morning light exposure / limiting initial morning screen time
Nutritious & regular meals meals

Weekly:
City escape (when I can)
Limit screen time for one day of the weekend
Social connection
Self care hobby (reading, sauna, knitting, hiking etc)

Every 6-12 months
Routinely get pathology checked to ensure all nutritional status isn’t further adding to fatigue/neurotransmitter dysfunction.

Don’t over complicate your health routines.

A healthy poo routine — is daily, 1-2 times.

Not meeting that quota? Make sure to include the below in your everyday routine.

2-3L of water per day
30g of fibre per day
A calm nervous system
Movement
Kiwi (with skin on) fruit before bed
Diverse diet

If you are still dealing with irregularity (constipation) — it could be due to what’s in your gut (microbes). Which can be investigated via gut microbiome testing.

Don’t let constipation be your normal, it’ll start (if it hasn’t already) impacting other parts of your health.
