World First Aid Day is today! If you need to get your certificates refreshed or wanting to learn for the first time, don't hesitate to contact us!

Learning how to manage in an emergency is so important. Anything you can do to help is better than nothing, and it gives you or your loved ones the best chance there is.

We ensure smaller group sizes as we are passionate about providing quality education to every student we teach.

A kinder visit we recently did!

A few weeks ago Joel delivered an AED to ME Rentals in Laverton.

Luke the owner decided to get some of his staff accredited with first aid certificates.

We then got them set up with first aid kits and and an AED.

It is important to us that businesses are capable, competent and confident to respond to a first aid emergency.

CPR & AEDs save lives.

Having access to an AED prior to the arrival of an ambulance significantly improves chances of survival from cardiac arrest.

Mariya has been a paramedic for over 8 years and has had time off in that period while starting our family.

She is especially passionate about parents being capable, competent and confident in navigating the inevitable illnesses in their children.

Mariya is moving into working in the perinatal space providing support, education, massage and debriefing for families.

She will be doing a lot of the behind the scenes work and will be seen to facilitating some of our infant and children nights that we are hoping to make available in the not to distant future.

Post Resuscitation care 🚑🏥

Advanced interventions help stabilise patients to be transported to hospital.

ALS support can help improve chances of survival and recovery.

Hospital care includes treatments that help improve neurological outcomes and overall quality of life for survivors.

Calling for help as early as possible allows patients access to these treatments faster and can lead to improved patient outcomes.

Overall it is important that we try not to miss any of the links in the chain, however, AEDs are not always available.

One thing we are passionate about is getting more AEDs out into the community.

Rapid Defibrillation ⚡

Defibrillation within 3-5 minutes of collapse can produce survival rates as high as 50-70%.

If an AED is used by the public prior to ALS arrival survival rates rise from 30% to 56%.

Early CPR 🤲

As soon as you have recognised someone is not responding, not breathing normally and you have called for help. begin CPR immediately.

CPR keeps blood and oxygen flowing to major organs.

Immediate CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival.

Early Recognition & Call for Help 📞

It is important to be able to recognise symptoms of cardiac arrest and to call 000 immediately.

The sooner you recognise and call for help the faster the patient will receive the care they require.

Every minute without CPR can decrease a persons chance of survival by approximately 10%.

If you find a person not responding and not breathing normally it is important that you are confident in being able to perform CPR.

CPR is taught in all of the courses that we provide.

Chain of Survival for out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest 🚑

Understanding and implementing the Chain of Survival can dramatically improve outcomes for cardiac arrest victims.

VACAR statistics from 2019/2020 showed:

76% of OHCA occurred in private residences - this shows that you are more likely to go into cardiac arrest with no trained medical professionals around.

Bystander CPR increased survival rates from 7% to 12%

AED use by public before ALS arrival increased survival from 30% to 56%.

We want to highlight the importance of AEDs in the community. Having easy access to an AED makes it easier for bystanders to respond quickly. They are user-friendly with instructions to assist you at every step. Immediate use of an AED can vastly increase survival rates.

Over the next few weeks we will be posting about each link in the chain.

Remember: you can make a difference. Learn CPR and know where your nearest AED is.

Online store now open!

We have launched our online store. Get all the first aid equipment that you need shipped directly to your business or your home.

We offer:

- First aid kits in a wide variety to suit different work places.

- First aid supplies to restock your kits or to create a kit that caters to your needs.

-Automatic External Defibrillators. We are passionate about getting as many AEDs out in the community as possible.

We also offer to service businesses first aid supplies. This includes setting up appropriate first aid kits on site and regularly restocking to ensure they always have what they need.

Over the coming week we will be discussing the chain of survival and why we are such big advocates for having AEDs easily accessible in the community.
