So often it is the men that are sceptical about booking into a HypnoBirthing course. Ben was one of them! The transformations that I get to witness as the program progresses is one of the most rewarding parts of my job! By the end of the 5 weeks Ben had learnt so much about his role in supporting his gorgeous wife . Here he is 3 weeks after the course finished, studying hard! Ben and Amanda are now very close to meeting their new little arrival and as they spend these final weeks preparing, I just know he is going to be the best support possible with his knowledge and understanding about birth - especially how the hormones work and what he can do to help Amanda. Of course a woman's body knows how to give birth, but partners play a huge role also. The best time to start the 5 week program is between 20 and 30 weeks pregnant, giving you plenty of time to practice once the course finishes. If you'd like to know more, please get in touch if you're on the Sunshine Coast. Courses for the rest of the year are starting to fill.

You were truly outstanding Mickey Mongan....Well said Anthea Thomas

In life there are many people that have a fire burning within to change and heal the world, but it is only the few that truly do.

When we have an exceptional and burning woman come to the world with a new paradigm and spreads an idea that challenges the status quo, they cause unrest with those comfortable, but importantly they touch the hearts of those that need the message most, and through their vision and unapologetic philosophy, they shift and shake a culture to wake up a part of people (or women) that has been forgotten or taken away.

Mickey has been that ‘burning woman’, that in previous times, may have been burned at the stake for her beliefs and determination to spread the message and truth of the normalcy of birth. It took thick skin, courage, determination and a strong belief to spread this message, 1 family at a time.

Over the years as a practitioner I had sometimes seen Mickey’s strength or filter-less views as harsh, but began to realise that this is the reason that she has managed to impact so many people, and how she has managed to prevent so many thousands of women from living with birth trauma.

Through working with Mickey as a Faculty member I saw that this intelligent, kind, soft hearted and authentic woman was not only changing the history of birthing, but also impacting first chapters of children’s lives with the gift of conscious, empowered parents, that is giving each of these children the chance to continue to write their stories with these lessons imprinted at a cellular level. The extent of the impact and ripple effect that she has had will never truly be known, and almost too great to fathom.

To Maura and all the family, thank you for sharing her with us. Our thoughts are with you as you adjust your lives without her, but I hope you take great comfort and pride in knowing that the world is mourning her and we will all be forever changed by her vision. Mickey is now an integral part of the history of birth, as she is a part of all of us who have known her and been touched by her message and incredible program of positive birth.

I love how this sweet baby is smiling! Today’s guest, Vidita shares her two births. A cesarean and an unsuccessful VBAC. She wanted to share from the perspective of a mom who didn’t get the VBAC she wanted and let other moms know that she still has no regrets and her second cesarean birth was much better than her first. Listen to the episode in your favorite podcast app! (Note: there was an issue with the audio this morning but it’s been fixed, you may have to re-download the episode to listen! Thanks! ☺️)
