International Women’s Day

Today we recognise the inspiring women who helped shape osteopathy.

Dr. Jenette “Nettie” Hubbard Bolles (1862–1930) was one of the first women to graduate from the American School of Osteopathy, later becoming the school’s first female professor of anatomy and the first editor of the Journal of Osteopathy.

She went on to become the first osteopathic physician in Colorado, opening her own institute and holding leadership roles across the profession.

A true pioneer whose legacy continues to inspire generations of osteopaths today.

Jackie and from Healthpoint spent the afternoon with Helen and Devi from the The Family Systems Hub, learning about Family Constellations and their approach to supporting healing within family relationships.

Family Constellations is often described as a profound and deeply transformative experience—one that brings clarity, compassion, and movement to long-standing personal and family patterns. In a supportive group setting, it offers the opportunity to view old problems through a new lens, revealing the hidden dynamics behind conflicts we’ve struggled to resolve.

It was easy to notice the parallels between Family Systems work and an osteopathic approach: both seek global change, both look far beyond the site of pain or trauma, and both orient towards future health, allowing slower, organic shifts to unfold in the days and weeks after a session.

Thank you, Helen and Devi, for sharing your wisdom and experience. We’re looking forward to more shared learning and future collaborations!

Heidi (she/her) recognises that true healing comes from addressing all areas of one’s life. With twenty years experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist, her aim is to alleviate pain and increase recovery and function. A combination of deep soft tissue, mobilisation, remedial, lymphatic and whole-body balancing techniques allows the body to relax and repair.

Heidi has extensive experience ironing out and rebalancing the mind and bodies of clients coming through the doors of Healthpoint and helps those needing nervous system support, managing symptoms from viral overload or relief from sore and tired musculoskeletal injuries. She can’t wait to meet you.

Outside of clinic hours Heidi spends as much time with her family in the bush walking and camping as she can.

Heidi is available on Fridays.
