*** Participants Wanted for New Program with Mindful Acorn! ***
I am looking for 2 individuals, 2 couples, and at least one neurodiverse individual (self-identified is fine!) to participate at significantly reduced rates (see below for cost). BONUS! If you’ve worked with me before or know me personally, you are still welcome to apply!
Hi there friends! As you all know, I run a mindfulness and yoga business called Mindful Acorn, and I am passionate about psychology, mental health, and the mind-body connection.
I am looking to extend my business to include working with somatic healing, integrating psychological science and holistic wellness to enhance emotional, psychological, physical health, and mental wellness. I am looking for individuals and couples willing to participate in a pilot program at extremely reduced rates (see below for cost).
Who runs Mindful Acorn?
Just in case we haven't met - hi! I'm Zoe - founder of Mindful Acorn. In a nutshell my qualifications and experience include my bachelor’s degree in psychological science and counselling (currently on final placement and supervision, graduating trimester 1 2025), certificate IV in alcohol and other drugs, 200-hour yoga teaching certificate and mindfulness coaching certification though The International Association of Yoga Therapy and Yoga Alliance and I am currently embarking on my certification in somatic healing. I am also an experienced support worker, and have a variety of experience in counselling youth and adults across various contexts including school well-being programs. Additionally, I am the elected student representative for undergraduates at the Australian College of Applied Professions, and I have founded and currently run a group of volunteer fundraisers that focus on supporting mental health programs and research.
What’s the Program About?
You’ll learn a variety of somatic practices to help release tension, trauma, and emotional blocks stored in the body, while also developing emotional intelligence and trauma resolution skills. The program blends evidence-based psychological techniques, somatic practices, and mindfulness tools to support your overall health—emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Program Details:
Sessions take place in-person in Croydon, with flexible scheduling. After an initial screening, the program runs for 6 weeks:
• Weeks 1 & 2: 1-hour in-person sessions
• Week 3: 30-minute reflection and feedback (via Zoom)
• Weeks 4 & 5: 1-hour in-person sessions
• Week 6: Final interview, a relaxed conversation over tea to gather feedback (recorded and transcribed for data collection, no personal details used)
What’s the Catch?
You’ll be asked to provide detailed feedback via short questionnaires and one interview. This feedback will be used to shape future programs. No identifying details will be shared.
Cost:
$140 total (includes materials and your own take-home yoga mat).
Please note: This price covers program costs and all profit goes back into the program. As such, no refunds or cancellations are available, however - rescheduling is easy and times are flexible.
After completing the program, you’ll have the option to continue at reduced rates if you feel you require more time together working through the process. My focus is always on helping you exit the program confidently rather than keeping clients returning indefinitely.
Who Can Join?
• You have little to no experience or some experience but little confidence with yoga or mindfulness practices.
• You’re open-minded, willing to learn, and comfortable giving feedback.
• You are not currently in crisis and feel ready to engage in this program.
• You are physically capable of participating. In-person sessions are currently held in a space with many stairs and no wheelchair access. Minor physical ailments are fine – communication is key, and I love collaborating to create adaptable and accessible practices that work for your body!
