I began my nursing career 10 years ago in the surgical theatre.

While travelling solo I met my now husband. When a request for leave to see him was declined, I made a decision that changed everything and resigned from my position so we could be together.

Just as the pandemic began, I had returned to the U.S. for what I thought would be a short while. Travel into Australia closed soon after and I couldn’t return. Since we couldn’t be together and my other love, travel, was also no longer possible, I poured all of my energy into my work in the theatre.

During COVID I worked across five different hospitals, including Johns Hopkins and the University of North Carolina, along with several others. During that time I also began working alongside plastic surgeons performing facial procedures, and watching those surgeries up close sparked my interest in the non surgical side of medicine.

When I eventually moved to Australia, I realised I couldn’t find a theatre role that offered the work life balance I was looking for. I decided to change direction and spent the next two years studying cosmetic nursing and injectables, followed by another year working under other clinics in Melbourne refining my skills.

That journey eventually led to opening Bespoke Aesthetics by Sammy.

One year ago, Bespoke Aesthetics by Sammy was simply a vision.

After leaving my role in the operating room and moving to Melbourne, I knew I wanted to build something different.

A space grounded in clinical knowledge and surgical precision. A space where medical aesthetics meets skin health. Where results are bespoke and considered. Where restraint matters, and we never do too much.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is less.

To my patients, thank you for trusting my approach. Thank you for understanding that skin health comes first. Not trends. Not excess.

Restraint matters. Integrity matters. Precision matters. Cosmetic medicine matters.

This celebration was a reflection of that vision.

Seeing patients in that room who have trusted me with their care and their confidence means more than I can express.

As we step into year two, my commitment remains the same. To continue refining, learning, and bringing elevated, evidence based medical aesthetics to Melbourne.

This is the year I got everything I ever wanted.

In March, I stepped into injecting full time after a year working across other clinics in Melbourne.

This year took me to Seoul for research and development, into rooms I never imagined I would be invited into, and behind the scenes of brands like Lhala that I’ve respected since 2018. I’m still incredibly grateful to have introduced the Lhala Doctor range to Australia 🥹

I brought Korean clinical skincare to the area and focused on education, teaching you about the structures of the skin, how anatomy, physiology, and lifestyle changes over time, and how this directly impacts your cosmetic results.

I created something different in Melbourne.
Something I’m proud of.

I left my first location, which allowed for a redirection, one that clarified something important. This work is medical, not an extension of the beauty industry. These procedures carry real risks and deserve time, assessment, education, and care.

Alongside the work, I eloped with my husband. We celebrated how we wanted and then invited everyone to our reception which we disguised as my birthday party.

In December, the doors to the new clinic opened. None of this would have been possible without the patients who show up, support the work, and believe in the direction I’m taking medical aesthetics.

Most people see a fun reel and think that is the job. It isn’t. The gloves, the tools, the set up might look playful here, but the standards behind them are not. There are protocols, sterile technique, and regulations for a reason, backed by 10 years of nursing experience, a two year postgraduate diploma in cosmetic nursing and injectables, and hours upon hours of additional training long after the certificates were framed. This is still medicine, performed by someone who understands facial anatomy, not someone treating it like a blank surface for trends.

In Australia, practitioners are prohibited from advertising before and after results for Schedule 4 treatments. So if you are seeing them online, know this. That person is ignoring the rules and only showing you their best work, not all of their work. Every face has a journey, not a highlight reel. And if someone is comfortable bending regulations publicly, it is worth asking what else they are comfortable overlooking.

My results are documented where they should be, in a private medical portfolio viewed in clinic. If you want to see outcomes that are deliberate, considered, and aligned with your features, you will not find them scrolling. You will find them in the chair. I can have fun with a reel, but the work is real and so are the standards.

Most people think the treatment is the feature. It isn’t. The true value of your appointment begins long before a tool is picked up or a needle is drawn.

Your assessment is not a quick 15 minute chat bundled into a treatment. It is a minimum one hour, dedicated to understanding your concerns, your history, any medical diagnoses and medications, and what you actually want to achieve. This is where I map out what is possible and what is appropriate for your features, your lifestyle, and your long term results.

A treatment without a thoughtful assessment is guesswork. Your face is not a template and your plan should never be either.

The holidays always seem to arrive before we’re ready. Treatments take time to settle, refine, and reveal their results, so planning ahead helps you move into the season feeling calm and confident.

Each treatment works on its own timeline
• Wrinkle reducing treatments: allow two weeks for results
• Microneedling and Rejuran: around four weeks for visible renewal
• Lip volumising treatments: two to four weeks for swelling to subside
• Chemical peels: four weeks for full skin regeneration

Appointments throughout November and December fill quickly, and last-minute spaces are rare.
