Hello lovely Tarot Tree friends. The card for the week is the grief stricken 3 of Swords. How could it not be after the horrifying, tragic events last night at Bondi Beach. My interpretion is deliberately focused on how the 3 of Swords relates to this.
The Three of Swords shows a heart pierced by three blades, suspended against a stormy, rain-filled sky. This imagery speaks to collective grief, shock, and the violent rupture of emotional and social bonds.
When applied to an act of terrorism, the 3 of Swords reflects the deliberate infliction of emotional and psychological devastation, not only physical loss. Terrorism aims to wound the heart of a community, and this card mirrors that intent precisely.
Though painful, the 3 of Swords is also a card of truth. It insists that grief must be felt, named, and acknowledged before healing can occur. In the long arc, it asks: - How does a community mourn without becoming what harmed it? - How can pain be honored without being perpetuated?
Rain falls in the image not to drown the heart, but to wash it, beginning the slow process of release.
Wishing you all a peaceful Monday. Bless!
