Sometimes it is not that you do not know how you feel.
It is that you have had to keep going for so long that your body has carried it for you.
The words did not come out.
The tears stayed in.
The overwhelm got pushed down so you could keep showing up for everyone else.
And still, the body remembers.
It can show up as heaviness, tightness, exhaustion, restlessness, a racing chest, or that feeling of being disconnected from yourself without fully knowing why.
This is not your body failing you.
This is your body trying to protect you in the only ways it knows how.
So many women are used to pushing through, staying composed, and holding everything together for everyone else.
But just because you kept going does not mean your body did not feel it.
Sometimes what is needed is not to push through harder, but to be given a space where your body no longer has to hold it all alone.

A space to soften.
A space to breathe.
A space to feel safe enough to let go, in your own time and in your own way.
If this feels familiar, bodywork can be a gentle place to begin.

If you are craving a space to exhale, reconnect, and be deeply held, you are warmly welcome here 🤎

✨ Bedtime rituals for a calmer nervous system & deeper sleep ✨

Sleep isn’t just about rest — it’s a form of self-care for your body, mind, and nervous system. The way we wind down at night can make all the difference in how deeply we sleep and how we feel in the morning.

In this carousel, I’ve shared some simple rituals that help your nervous system settle, support relaxation, and improve sleep quality:
🌙 Give yourself a wind-down hour
🌙 Read a book instead of scrolling
🌙 Use softer lighting or red lights
🌙 Light a candle or incense
🌙 Take a warm bath or shower
🌙 Avoid heavy meals late at night
🌙 Support your body with gentle supplements if needed

Even small rituals repeated consistently can have a big impact on how you sleep, feel, and show up the next day.

Which of these rituals do you already do and which will you try tonight?

What does embodiment really mean?

Embodiment is the practice of being present in your body, not just living in your thoughts.
So many of us move through life in our heads - thinking, planning, analysing, worrying, anticipating. Embodiment invites us back into our physical experience. It’s about noticing sensations, breath, emotions and energy in the body, and allowing the body to guide awareness.
Your body is constantly communicating through feelings like tension, ease, warmth, heaviness, expansion or contraction. When we slow down enough to listen, we reconnect with our intuition, boundaries and authentic expression.

Embodiment can look like:
* taking a deep breath and noticing how your body feels
* moving, stretching or dancing intuitively
* feeling emotions in the body instead of suppressing or thinking about them
* grounding through touch, breath or stillness
* listening to what your body needs in each moment

It’s not about “doing it perfectly.”
It’s about coming home to yourself.

At Ritual Rooms we honour the body as a place of wisdom, healing and connection.

✨ The body remembers
✨ The body speaks
✨ The body leads

Just some more info about the FACE & HEART facial massage 🤍

Sculpt & Lift facial massage works deeply with circulation, fascia, muscle tone and lymphatic flow. Because of this, there are a few important contraindications to be aware of.

* No Botox or fillers within the past 2 weeks
* No Roaccutane within the past 6 months
* No active retinols or strong exfoliating acids for 3 days prior

Here’s why:
Injectables such as Botox and fillers need time to fully settle and integrate into the tissue. Working deeply with massage before this window can increase migration risk, disrupt placement, or affect your results.

Roaccutane significantly thins and sensitises the skin. Even moderate pressure can cause irritation, bruising or damage when the skin barrier is compromised.

Retinols and active exfoliants increase cell turnover and sensitivity. Pausing them allows the skin barrier to stabilise so we can work safely and effectively.

My priority is always the integrity of your skin and the longevity of your results.
If you’re unsure whether something you’re using is suitable, please reach out before your session, I’m happy to guide you.

These are the things I hear again and again after sessions.

So many of us are moving through life bracing.
Holding.
Pushing through.
When there’s finally space to soften, the nervous system recalibrates. Sleep deepens. Pain eases. Sensation returns.
You feel like yourself again, or maybe like a version of you that’s been waiting underneath the tension.

If your body has been asking for something slower, more intentional, more attuned… this might be your invitation.

Face & Heart Ritual
Sculpt & Lift Facial Massage

The face often carries more than we realise.

A tight jaw.
Teeth pressing together.
A brow that rarely fully softens.

The Face and Heart Ritual helps release this tension, promoting flow and ease.

We start through the upper back, shoulders, neck and arms, areas that directly influence how the jaw, head and facial muscles sit. When these structures are bracing, the face compensates. Releasing them first allows the features to settle and lift more naturally.

From there, we move into a Sculpt & Lift inspired facial massage that extends through the neck, jaw and scalp, working with fascia, muscle tone and lymphatic flow.

This is a full 70-minute session, with 15 minutes dedicated to pre-consultation and post integration.

You receive 55 minutes of hands-on facial work, including:

double oil cleanse

hot towels

medium-pressure sculpting massage

external jaw and neck release

Grounding, intentional touch supports natural lift, improved circulation and glow. Clients often notice clearer contour, reduced puffiness, less jaw tension and a brighter, more rested and lifted appearance.

You leave feeling held and restored, with a softer expression and a complexion that looks refreshed and alive.

There is a reason why Somatic Ritual sessions are 2+ hours.

Not because more is better.
Not because longer sounds impressive.
But because the nervous system needs time and space to unwind.
When you first arrive, your system is often still moving.
Still thinking.
Still carrying the pace of the outside world.
The body doesn’t soften on command.
It takes time for the breath to deepen.
For muscles to stop bracing.
For your system to recognise it’s safe enough to let go.
That’s why we begin with around 20 minutes of consultation, a real conversation about where you are, what you’ve been holding, and what support would feel most aligned that day.
From there, the work can unfold gradually.
Layer by layer.
Without rushing the process.
There is space to integrate.
To rest.
To land gently with tea before stepping back into the world.
It helps the work settle into your system so you leave feeling steady rather than abruptly pulled back into urgency of day to day life.
When we allow time, the body responds differently.
More honestly.
More fully.
If you’re craving depth instead of speed, this space was created for you.
Somatic Ritual sessions, South Yarra.

Your body is always responding.
Even when your mind is still deciding.

Sometimes you say yes, but your body says something else.
Your throat tightens.
Your breath gets smaller.
Your stomach turns.

That is not you being dramatic.
That is your nervous system doing its job.

YES can feel different.
A fuller breath.
Warmth in your chest or belly.
A steady sense of “I can be here”.

And then there is the in between.
Not a no, not a yes.
Just not yet.

You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to take a smaller step.
You are allowed to listen before you decide.

If you want support reconnecting with these signals, book a session at Ritual Rooms and we’ll work with your body and nervous system at a pace that feels safe. 🤎

Woooops I forgot to post this recipe I filmed just before new years… This salad was so yummy I wanted to share it! 🥗✨

Don’t @ me about the dairy + inflammation lolI’m not sold that it’s the villain it’s made out to be when in moderation.

Crunchy radish, green apple & dill salad with a yogurt-lemon-mustard dressing.

This salad was a hit on Christmas Day ☺️

The salad:– sliced radish– green apple– lots of fresh dill– toasted walnuts

Dressing:– Greek yogurt– lemon juice + zest– a spoon of Dijon mustard– olive oil– salt & pepper

I had it with barramundi on the side… highly recommend.

Mix gently, adjust to taste, enjoy ###

Why do some people craving only hard pressure?

Craving deep pressure isn’t about toughness, it’s often your nervous system signalling that parts of your body are numb or disconnected. Chronic stress, trauma, or past experiences can lead the nervous system to “turn down the volume,” so lighter sensations aren’t noticeable, even irritable. Hard pressure provides a strong input that your nervous system can actually register, helping you feel grounded and present.

But there’s a catch: constantly relying on intense pressure can override subtle bodily signals. Your nervous system may stay in “high alert” or “shutdown” mode, limiting your ability to feel and respond to more nuanced sensations.
Medium or soft pressure offers a way to resensitise the body.
This means:
Gradually increasing awareness of subtle sensations (temperature, tension, movement)
Rebuilding interoception, your ability to sense what’s happening inside your body
Strengthening nervous system regulation, making it easier to calm down or self-soothe
Expanding your capacity to tolerate a range of sensations safely
This process helps your body move from a state of numbness or hyper-alertness to one of connectedness and balance. Over time, it allows you to enjoy both grounding deep pressure and subtler, more attuned touch.

I also understand how irritating very light touch can be (myself included in the past!). Trauma-informed bodywork isn’t about forcing one type of pressure. It’s about working with you, your nervous system, your preferences, and your capacity, adjusting to create a safe, supportive experience.

Takeaway:
Craving hard pressure is a signal, not a flaw. Resensitising with attuned touch allows your nervous system to expand its range, improve regulation, and reconnect with subtle sensations , helping you feel more embodied, present, and in your body.
