š¤£šš¤£šā¦this!
I will have to start sprinkling that into my sentences!
There are definitely days I feel like Iām hanging on by a thread.š§µ
Thanks to š„ on TikTok for the relatable feels.
I hope it hit home for you too! š
Please share with other people you think will get a kick out if it.
Have an amazing weekend. x

Listen, sometimes we need to share the good and the badā¦because if you canāt laugh youāll cry. š
Some days you nail it and others you walk into a room and completely forget your name let alone why you're there! š
Iāll break the iceā¦
Not really funny - but thank goodness we live near the pool or my boy wouldnāt have been able to participate in the school swimming compā¦poor child!
Who else can relate? I would love to hear yours so we can all commiserate together the minds we had pre peri (and long COVID in my case).
It may not have ever worked very well, but gosh it worked a hell of a lot better than it does now!
Looking forward to hearing about yours. Leave it below. x

Most people arenāt given the support they need to go through the process of finding the right medication at just the right dose for them. š
Or sometimes even a combo of stimulant and non-stimulant will be what causes the best outcome with the least side-effects.
There are 2 types of stimulant 'molecule' used in ADHD medications.
While many will do great on either, some will do waaaaay better on one than the other.
š„Stimulant 1: Methylphenidate - Ritalin, Ritalin LA and Concerta
š„Stimulant 2: Dexamphetamine - Dexamphetime and Vyvanse
And everyone has a different 'optimal dose' which is why getting it right takes trial and error.
I know from my own experience and from helping countless clients advocate for optimal medical management, trying different medications and doses is essential for the majority of us. Especially for women+, and especially for those of us 35+ when hormones can wreak havoc.
As an RN and coach, Iām passionate about helping others figure it out sooner with less grief along the way. š

How freaking hilarious and accurate in this! [Thanks š„.fuel] š¤£

If you are a women+ currently experiencing the wild roller coaster that is living with ADHD whilst in the throes of peri/menopauseā¦I feel you! š¢
Itās a certain kind of hell not knowing which version of you is going to show up on any given day. š«
The mid-life hormones are doing their thing (or not) and the impact can be seriously next level.
Sometimes we just have to laugh or weād go *properly* loopy! š¬

The research is in! Peeps with ADHD experience *waaaay* more fatigue than most. šŖ
And we become programmed over time to constantly push through tasks, mask our symptoms, and just put up (and shut up) with overstimulationā¦
But if we donāt listen to our bods and rest up, burnout or illness are inevitable. (Donāt I know it!?š«)
So donāt ignore the many signs that thereās more going on than the usual mid-life/parenting tiredness most people experience. Some signs to take seriously include:
š Brain fog or worse forgetfulness
š Feeling emotionally numb or more sensitive
š Getting overwhelmed by small tasks
š Loss of motivation
š Physical fatigue
Rest, rest, rest is your best friend! Taking it easy is *essential* if you want to stay well and have good ADHD management as we get a little older.
Simplify where you can, delegate what you can & pause what doesnāt need to be done. And prioritise things that fill your cup! ā

Getting an ADHD diagnosis can be incredibly daunting - not to mention not remotely ADHD friendly!
(Hello forgetting important appointments/documents!) šāāļø
But there are a few simple things you can prioritise sharing with your psychiatrist that will help avoid setbacks.
While you should never keep anything from your psychiatrist/doctor, talking first and foremost about FEELINGS sometimes isnāt helpful!
Theyāre more interested in behaviour with ADHD. So share examples of the times that the ācore symptomsā - attention, impulse control and hyperactivity - have affected you throughout your life and the impact this has had.
I hope this helps, if this found you at the right timeā¦good luck. š„°
Head to my blog post below about this and you'll find many other super helpful ones on the website too. x
Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches that this beautiful chaotic life throws your way. š
Having systems and strategies in place to help deal with the day to day really does make a hell of a difference.
Donāt get me wrong, there are still days that can be one cluster f*ck after anotherā¦but for the most part, I feel like I have my s**z together. š
It wasnāt always this way and it was a lot of trial and error⦠but I love that through my own lived experience I now get to help other women+ with ADHD thrive in their own lives. š
Did you know that as many as 90% of people with ADHD have *attachment disturbances*. All of them - anxious, avoidant and disorganised attachment - are *way* more likely for us. š«¤
The good news? Thereās a new, highly effective way to heal - and I mean like nothing that has come before - The Ideal Parent Figure Protocol!
It was through my own struggles in relationships that I first discovered (and fell down the rabbit hole) of attachment theory and how much it affects those of us with ADHD. š¤
In a nutshell, when tiny humans donāt experience steady, safe love, their brains wire for more of the same. Those early patterns donāt just vanish. They follow us into adulthood.
Research shows that between 70ā90% of people with ADHD experience insecure attachment patterns compared to about 40% for neurotypicals.
As well as doing the IPF for myself, Iām becoming a facilitator so I can help my clients with attachment as well!
Iāve been unable to contain tears three times in the last week.
This was March last year - but I never posted it. And while things are better overall, they remain hard in lots of ways, and not just due to my health. šŖ
What's tipped me over this week is how much my horrendous health issues have impacted my ability to get ahead in my business and the financial fallout.
Every time I talk about, out of nowhere, there are tears.
I know Iām usually up-beat on here, but don't let that fool you. My health issues are still so sh*te at times.
Symptoms of POTS, mast cell activation, pain from hypermobility, long COVID, and especially the cognitive issues/brain fog (on top of ADHD and hormones š) still impact me a *lot*.
And it kills me.. the money Iāve spent. The zero super in nearly 12 years. The lack of being able to participate in so many activities others do because of the cost.
It all *adds* up. Sorry not sorry⦠I do have a plan to get me out of this situation, and depending how it goes, Iāll share at a later date.
In the meantime, Iād love to know, are you in a similar boat? Let me know in the comments. x

Who can relate? This meme feels like my life sometimesā¦
I forgot my kiddo had his swimming carnival last week. And that was just one of many āADHD in midlifeā moments.š«
This feels a little like the modern day equivalent of the ājust hang in thereā poster with the cat from back in the day. (if you donāt know what I am talking about, you must be young!) š
As we head into a new week, I hope youāre doing better than this vibe!
ADHD + hormones + brain fog = Hectic!
Hope you have a fantastic week ahead. š

That might make some peeps a bit uncomfortableā¦š«
Itās such a relief to not care what people think of me anymore.
Itās never worth it to bend over backwards to please others or try to āfit inā. The real ones will take you for who you are and not expect you to be someone you are not.
Once youāre truly comfy with who you are (quirks and all, thatās what makes us US!) you no longer care about what other people think. š
