Our mobile pill testing service was on the ground at Pitch Music & Arts Festival (6-9 March 2026) — and the numbers speak for themselves. 📊

673 samples tested
579 harm reduction conversations held
60% of people spoke to a health worker about their substance use for the very first time
75% of samples contained only the expected substance
2 notifications were issued

M**A, ketamine and co***ne were the most common substances presented. Every conversation, every test, every notification matters. This is what evidence-based harm reduction looks like in action.

🏃‍♀️When you feel the neeeeed....🏃‍♀️. and find out it's M**H! 😵🧊

In past decades, 'Speed’ was commonly used to describe unregulated amphetamines BUT the market has changed over time. Nowadays unless it's being prescribed, you're most likely getting m**h if someone is offering you 'speed' .

In the past year, 👨‍🔬we tested 37 samples thought to be amphetamines or 'speed’. 🏃‍♀️👨‍🦼
32 out of those 37 samples ....contained m**hamphetamine.🧊

So what exactly IS the difference? Find Out!🕵️‍♀️👨‍🔬

How can you reduce any possible harms from unexpected substances?
✌️Start low. Go slow. - Have less than you usually would and wait for effects before taking more.
🤟Avoid using alone.- Have someone you trust around to help out if som**hing goes wrong.
✌️✌️ Test your gear. - It's Best to Test!

When substances look alike, a simple mix-up can lead to an unexpected experience or worse still,
a dangerous accident.

At the Victorian Pill Testing Service in Fitzroy, people can bring in substances to find out what’s really inside them — and get personalised harm reduction advice from trained health workers.

In just 7 months, the fixed site service has already:

✔ Tested 3,000+ drug samples

✔ Had 1,500+ conversations with people about reducing risk

✔ Issued drug alerts to warn the community and health services about dangerous substances

The service is free, legal and confidential. If you use drugs in Victoria, consider making our service your first stop.
Substances tested can include pills, capsules, powders, liquids and crystals.

From 4–8 March, the Victorian Pill Testing Service reached a new milestone — 341 samples processed at our Fitzroy fixed site, and 673 samples tested on-site at Pitch Music and Arts Festival across the weekend.

That's over 1,000 opportunities to make safer choices.
