‘Lift others up.’

We are all trying our best.
Some of us are going through hard times.
It costs nothing to be nice.
To give a smile, a compliment, a word of encouragement costs nothing and could really make someone’s day.

Somewhat similar to the serenity prayer 😇

It’s a nice little comforter to keep in your back pocket.

At the end of each day, practice gratitude for what you have and what is going well in your life.

Acknowledge there are things in life (and people) that you can’t change. Instead of trying to change them or live with regret, learn from them and decide what you want your actions to be.

Always have hope for the future: for change, better times, new experiences.

This is something I speak a lot about with clients. Our brains can change. Just because we have been told something for a long time (and we have come to believe it and repeat the thought automatically), doesn’t mean it can’t be changed.

Changing a negative thought or a self-criticism to even a more neutral thought changes your neural pathways 🧠

In these days of social media, we often expect validation through views, likes, follows, comments… anything that tells us we have been noticed by someone else.

True confidence comes from within.
Be comfortable with you who are and choose your behaviours to reflect this without the need to be noticed by others.

This will actually help to build self esteem and make you more resilient because you won’t be so affected by what other people think.

😇 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY 😇

12 years ago I took this photo whilst taking a run in my hometown (Wollongong, NSW).

It was the month before I made the big move to Melbourne.

A few years later it would become the logo for my business.

It reminds me that with every sunrise there will be a new opportunity.
A fresh start.
Hope.

I have used this symbol to get me through the toughest days in my life. I’ve used it as a reminder that no matter how tough it got, the sun would rise again in the morning and another 24 hours would begin.

If you are going through a tough time, remember the sunrise.
Take one day at a time 🌅

We often feel shame and regret in regard to our mistakes.
Mistakes are inevitable.

However, what would our life be if we erased all of our mistakes?

We learn from them.
We change.
We evolve.
We learn humility.
We grow.
We gain wisdom.

So forgive yourself for your mistakes, but also learn from them.

😇 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY 😇

Most of us what to avoid ‘negative’ emotions. We don’t want to feel angry, sad, hurt, frustrated… so we try to squash them down.

But just like the opposite side of coins, these emotions also are proof that we cared about someone or something, that we have put in effort and we have loved.

Honour these emotions.
Let them come and go.
They are part of the human experience.

For this wellness Wednesday, I’m taking advice from our most loyal companions ♥️🐾

They are great teachers of mindfulness and being in the moment. They get excited over small things and are always ready for a play. They don’t feel guilty for resting and don’t hold grudges.

I wonder if we took a little bit of this, how differently our day might go…
