The office has been busy celebrating the festive season. Check out some of the projects from our teen group and our lower primary group. We are also preparing for our closure period. We will be closed as of Monday 22nd December and will reopen Monday 19th January. Support workers will still be out and about supporting families and I will be available to support them and anyone who feels they urgently need to speak to someone from our service. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Discovering Strength community for trusting in our services and thank my team the work you do to help our clients achieve their goals! Merry Christmas to you all and we look forward to providing a service again in 2026 🎄🎄🎄

Lots of news to share before we end the term. Our soccer program is going to another level!! We had to make new arrangements because of the revamp of Mick’s Jump and Play and as a result we are now working with Phoenix Soccer Club. We now have a genuine path to transition children into the Phoenix Development Squad. One of our players, Declan has been training in this club and is now going to be playing for a mainstream team. Winners of our Best and Fairest this term are Liam and Lewis. Lewis will be leaving our program in 2026 - he has joined a mainstream Basketball team and we couldn’t be prouder!!! Many thanks to Diva who has coached our kids for the last couple of years. Also much gratitude to Mick and Anne for their support over the last couple of years. The whole community appreciates the role you have played in the Melton community for as long as I can remember 🙏🙏🙏

This is our latest client to get a job. Gab and his mother obtained volunteer work at Vinnies and together they worked on a Sunday so that Gab could learn the skills required to work in retail! Here he is at Kmart behind the register, doing a fantastic job. The family put in the work and now Gab is reaping the rewards!! Congratulations mate! You set a goal and you worked to achieve it! Join Melton City Council on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, from 9:30 am–12pm, for a walk celebrating diversity, unity, and inclusion. We’re standing together against gender-based violence and exclusion as we mark both the International Day of People with Disability and the 16 Days of Activism.

We’ve taken some time out of therapy and groups to travel to Perth for the Asia Pacific Autism Conference!! Lots of down time as well and some stories to bring back.
