Women don’t need cupcakes.
They need health care that sees them, hears them and is designed for them.

This upcoming International Women’s Day, the theme “Balance the Scales” is a reminder that inequality in health care is not abstract – it shows up as delayed diagnoses, dismissed symptoms and barriers to accessing treatment.

Here are 5 new Victorian women’s health services that are better than cupcakes:
🧁 Women’s Health Clinics delivering specialist care
🧁 The Virtual Women’s Health Clinic providing telehealth services statewide
🧁 A Mobile Women’s Health Clinic supporting rural and regional communities
🧁 Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Hubs
🧁 A dedicated Aboriginal Women’s Health Clinic offering culturally safe care

Services that focus on: Pelvic pain. Endometriosis. Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS). Contraception. Sexual health testing. Prolapse. Menopause. Abortion care.

Eat the cupcake, but then forward this cheat sheet to the women, girls and gender diverse people in your life so they can access the health care they deserve.

That’s how we start to balance the scales.

Crucial to have the right info and to amplify the voices of lived experience.

Recent media coverage has been confronting and distressing for many in the endometriosis community.

We know it’s been a particularly difficult time for the 1 in 7 women living with endometriosis.

This Endometriosis Awareness Month, we invite you to share your story with us.

We know that many women feel isolated in their health experiences, and that sharing stories is a powerful way to help others feel less alone.

This month, we want to use our platform to amplify the voices of women living with endometriosis.

If you would like to share your story with us, please send us a DM or email us at media@jeanhailes.org.au

💊 A completely normal pharmacy interaction

Patient: hands over a stack of prescriptions
“Yep, I’ll just get everything thanks.”

Pharmacist: prints labels, packs meds, checks interactions, organises repeats ✔️

Patient:
“Oh… not that one.”
“And not that one.”
“I stopped taking this ages ago.”
“Actually I only need the small one.”

Pharmacist: quietly repacks half the basket 😅

Patient:
“…and I left my wallet in the car.”

No stress, this happens every day 😂
A quick heads-up on what you actually need just helps us get you sorted faster.

We truly LOVE summary lists and the different spelling variations - after all, meds are complicated! 💊

PHARMACY NEWS 🗞️

Items found during a recent cupboard audit include:

• Antibiotics from 2017
• Half a box of painkillers “for emergencies”• A mystery tablet no one remembers getting

Reminder: If your medication expired during a different Prime Minister or you can’t recall what it’s for… it’s time to let it go.

Return expired medicines to your pharmacy for safe disposal. 💊

💊 Signs you might love a Webster pack:

• You’ve stared at your tablets wondering if you already took them.
• Your medicine drawer looks like organised chaos.
• You’ve said “I’ll remember” and then… didn’t 😅

Webster packs = medications sorted by day and time, ready to go.

Less confusion.
Less stress.
Fewer “did I take it?” moments.

Honestly, they’re like meal prep, but for your meds.

Pharmacist confession:

We don’t put stickers on your medicine for fun:

They aren’t accessories.
They aren’t optional.
They’re not just there to make the box look important.

Those labels tell you HOW to take the medicine safely and they matter more than people think. We do personalise quite a few of them just for you!

Before you take it… have a quick read.
Your future self will thank you. 💊

P.S. they are a little fun 😉
