Chaffey Aged Care has a long and proud association with the Freemasons over the years through very generous donations and support.
We are honoured to share with you a very special and highly significant event and recognition of one of our residents Mr Robert Horne who was recently recognised for his 60 years dedication and contributions as a member of the local Freemasons.
Some thoughts and background have been kindly shared by his daughter Kaye who was here to support her dad in receiving this honour which was a wonderful and humbling surprise. We thank her for the photos and information. Congratulations Robert. Well deserved. 💙🥰👏👏
Robert was presented his 60 year Masonic Lodge Jewel by the MWBro Peter Henshall Grand Master of Freemasons Victoria in a special ceremony held in the Cupper Lounge at Chaffey Aged Care on Friday 1st August 2025.
The 60 year jewel represents 60 years of service to the Freemasons Victoria.
Robert started in Freemasonry back in 1965 at Merbein until it’s closure and all members amalgamated to join the United Memorial & Merbein Lodge with meetings being held at the Sunraysia Masonic Centre in Irymple.
In his time in the Lodge he had 2 terms as Master of the Lodge and he and Pam (now deceased) helped organise the Masonic Lodge Debutante Balls.
The motto of Freemasonry is to “Make Good Men Better"
