It provides much needed support and intervention during periods of high stress, allowing you to privately explore and discuss your thoughts and feelings about infertility.

🌱 Supporting the Next Generation of Fertility Research

Last week, we were delighted to host two third-year University of Newcastle students as part of their final-year placement within the HMRI Infertility and Reproduction Research Program.

During their time at Genea Newcastle, the students observed a range of procedures — from patient interviews and semen analysis to embryo culture — gaining valuable insight into how a fertility clinic delivers compassionate, patient-centred care.

Their visit forms part of a University of Newcastle-led research project, in partnership with Genea and HMRI, investigating how extracellular vesicles in seminal fluid may contribute to male infertility — an area that remains poorly understood despite accounting for around half of all infertility cases.

This collaboration aims to deepen our understanding of male fertility and pave the way for new diagnostic tools and treatment options to support couples on their fertility journey.

We’re proud to help foster the next generation of scientists and contribute to advancing fertility research in the Hunter region. 💙
