Are ingrown toenails causing you pain or discomfort? At Midland Podiatry, we're here to help you get back on your feet comfortably!

What is an ingrown toenail?
It's when the edge of your toenail grows onto the surrounding skin, leading to redness, swelling, and sometimes infection.

Common causes include:
🦶 Wearing tight or ill-fitting shoes
🦶 Cutting nails too short or at an angle
🦶 Toenail injury or repetitive pressure

Watch for symptoms:
👀 Tenderness and pain around the nail
👀 Redness and swelling
👀 Pus or signs of infection

Preventive tips:
✔️ Trim your toenails straight across
✔️ Avoid cutting nails too short
✔️ Wear properly fitting footwear
✔️ Keep your feet clean and dry
