🚴‍♂️ Ride for Reason – This Saturday! 💛

We’re proud to support Jarrod Simmons, who’s taking on an incredible challenge — riding 300km in just 12 hours to raise funds for the Cancer Council!

This Saturday, Jarrod will start at 6:30am at Main Entranceway & Reception of Mildura Waves Aquatic and Leisure Centre as part of the Ride for Reason, showing amazing endurance and community spirit in support of cancer research and awareness.

To help boost the fundraising efforts, the Mildura Chocolate Company has donated a delicious chocolate hamper as part of the raffle prizes! 🍫🎁 Every ticket sold and every dollar raised will help the Cancer Council continue their vital work supporting those impacted by cancer.

Christie Centre Annual General Meeting

This week, the Christie Centre held its Annual General Meeting, a wonderful occasion to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and look ahead to an exciting new chapter.

The meeting marked an important leadership transition, as we formally recognised the retirement of our long-serving CEO, Florence Davidson, and warmly welcomed our new CEO, Nadiene Lynch.

We also celebrated our incredible team members for their years of service, recognising their unwavering commitment to supporting people of all abilities and strengthening our community.

This year we were also proud to celebrate our recognition as the 2025 Victorian Training Awards – Small Employer of the Year, a reflection of our ongoing investment in learning, development, and inclusion.

Thank you to everyone — participants, staff, families, and supporters — who make the Christie Centre a place of opportunity, belonging, and growth.

✨ Things Are Changing at SPARK ✨

After almost two years of vibrant community engagement and hospitality at the Powerhouse, SPARK – our Christie Centre social enterprise – is entering a new chapter!

SPARK will evolve its operations in line with an expanded partnership with Mildura Rural City Council, as Council enhances visitor servicing at the Powerhouse to better meet the needs of locals and visitors alike.

We’re proud of everything SPARK has achieved — creating inclusive employment, championing local enterprise, and bringing life to the Powerhouse precinct. As we refocus, SPARK will continue to be a proud outlet for Mildura Chocolate Company and other local social enterprise products, while contributing to the Powerhouse as a true Visitor Inspiration Point – a place of community, creativity, and connection.

A great opening attended by over 30 art lovers, with welcoming speeches by Donald Harvery (Inclusive Arts Network) and Nadine Lynch (CEO, Christie Centre)

Presented by the Inclusive Arts Network in collaboration with ArtRageUs, this exhibition brings together the work of 48 artists and five arts businesses and groups — a true showcase of the power of inclusive creativity and collaboration.

✨ Our ArtRageUs studio is home to talented local artists who bring bold ideas, colour, and heart to their work. Momentum is a chance to see their incredible creativity alongside other artists from the region.

It’s been a week since the Christie Centre was announced as the 2025 Victorian Training Awards – Small Employer of the Year and we’re still feeling incredibly proud!

This award recognises small businesses that have achieved excellence in the provision of nationally recognised training for their employees. For us, it’s a celebration of our dedicated and diverse team of trainers and staff, and the ongoing commitment to learning, growth, and skill development across all areas of the Christie Centre and our social enterprises.

📢 Public Holiday Closure Notice

The Christie Centre and all our social enterprises — AroundAgain, GrowAbility Nursery, Mildura Chocolate Company (MCC) and Spark Kiosk — will be closed on Friday September 26th for the Grand Final public holiday.

We’ll be back to our usual opening times on the following days:
