A recent study of over 3,000 adults aged 50+ found that something as simple as how often we eat, especially whether we eat breakfast, may influence muscle health as we age. Those who skipped breakfast or ate fewer meals per week had lower muscle mass and a higher risk of sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss).

This adds to a growing body of research suggesting that it is not just what we eat, but also when and how consistently we eat that shapes our physiology. This is called chrononutrition.

From a clinical perspective, this reinforces a key principle: As we get older, the body becomes less responsive to anabolic signals like protein intake, so regular nourishment throughout the day becomes even more important for maintaining muscle, metabolism, and resilience.

As always, context matters, but rhythm and consistency in eating patterns appear to be foundational for healthy aging. Of course, we also need to honor our own personalized rhythms and find what works for us.

Did you know GLP-1 is a hormone your body makes naturally? 🧬

GLP-1 is released in the gut after you eat. It helps regulate appetite, blood sugar, and how quickly food leaves the stomach.

Meals rich in protein and fiber tend to increase satiety hormones like GLP-1. Walking after meals helps the body handle glucose more efficiently. Regular exercise, good sleep, and limiting ultra-processed foods all support the metabolic pathways that regulate hunger and blood sugar.

These habits are part of the biological foundation that helps your metabolism work the way it was designed to. Which one will you try first?

Creatine is having a clinical renaissance, and it goes far beyond muscle.

Emerging research shows creatine supports some of the most fundamental processes in human physiology, including cellular energy production, mitochondrial function, brain health, and metabolic resilience.

It works by helping regenerate ATP, the core energy currency every cell depends on. This makes creatine especially relevant for high-demand tissues like muscle, brain, and heart.

New human studies suggest creatine may help support:

• Cognitive function and brain energy
• Muscle strength and healthy aging
• Glucose metabolism and cardiometabolic health
• Resilience during metabolic stress

This is why creatine is increasingly being recognized not just as a sports supplement, but as a foundational bioenergetic nutrient.

In our latest blog, we break down the mechanisms, clinical evidence, and what this means for health and aging.
