Nothing beats a nice shady Mallee tree in the yards on a hot day,
If no trees or shelter shed I bring my own oztrail gazebo.
Unlike southern scanners who sit in tiny enclosed tents our earlier scanning season and climate up here is far too hot for that !
Summer hot days for me mean sunrise starts and shade and getting the job done before the afternoon heat peaks
Animal welfare and human welfare are important to me

Sorry to anyone who has been trying to contact me and it has cut off,
I have had Telstra issues, apparently when I am out of phone service Telstra took off the feature to leave a voice message as phones only take messages now not Telstra so when I am out of service the phone can’t take a message obviously!
After a change in phone plan I have message bank back to how technology used to work.
I look forward to hearing from you to organise the upcoming scanning season

One of the most common comments I get is “wow that crate must be amazing to stand up to a constant battering over the years!” The truth is I have had 4 crates in 17 years, so get about 5 years of service before my welder/repairman husband says the aluminium is too oxidised and weakened to continue repairing.
I have a new crate that I bought and have been using for a few weeks after tweaking and making adjustments, the truth is no two scanners have the same equipment and technique so everyone individualises their gear taking into account a lot of factors, like type of sheep scanned, height, strength, Eid collection, weight of crate, compactness, fitting in Ute and manoeuvring into yards, use in different yard designs, repairability and part wear.
I thought I would buy a crate this time instead of getting one personally made to get ideas off another scanner.
There are pros and cons to this crate and after a bit more use I will make up my mind I’m sure!
PS it was very nice to work in yards in a shed scanning last week in the cold rainy weather!

Covid update:
NSW have again changed their border crossing rules to only people living in the border zone are eligible for a critical service permit to enter. Thankfully living in the border region I qualify and it is business as usual to service western nsw clients, adhering to all COVIDSafe procedures. Stay safe

Fingers crossed for some much needed rain this week for persevering clients in the far west of NSW, there has been some great scanning results for spring lambing, we just need some greenery to make a successful lambing a reality!

Border Closure update: I am able to travel to NSW to continue scanning even with the tightening rules as of tomorrow, i have just had my new permit approved! Agriculture is a critical service and I have a covid-safe plan approved and registered in NSW. I will have to self-isolate as a condition when not providing my services in NSW, and minimise my contact with anyone outside my household at home in VIC, keeping a log of my movements daily.
The great news is that i am able to still work and provide my services to clients and look forward to seeing you abiding by social distancing covid-safe protocols.
