SASMA is the peak multidisciplinary organisation of Sport Science & Sports Medicine in SA in 1961.

SASMA is the peak multidisciplinary organisation of Sport Sciences and Sports Medicine Professionals in SA dedicated to enhancing the health and performance of the community through safe participation in sport and physical activity. SA Sports Medicine Association was established under the name of Australian Sports Medicine Federation (SA Branch) Inc. It is:
- a multidisciplinary organisation inclusive of all medical and allied professionals with an interest in sport and recreation
- a non-profit health and safety promotion organisation
- a community education and industry service provider

The SA Sports Medicine Association marks this Sundays 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 “𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀” focussing on removing barriers to women’s and girls’ participation in all walks of life 👩🏻👩🏾‍🦱👧🏽👩🏻‍🦰

We know there is a disparity in female representation in sports injury research and this needs to change to support physical activity and participation from adolescence and across one’s life journey

This morning saw over 170 members of the sports medicine community join us at the Crowne Plaza Adelaide for our 2026 Conference! 🤩

Our brilliant Keynote Speaker, Associate Professor Jane Rooney, kicked off the morning with her talk on ACL Injuries, followed by a multi-d panel 🗣️🦵

Thank you to Jane, and panelists, Dr Leigh Mosel, Dr Geoff Verrall, Manning Mitchell and Kylie Doecke for sharing their expertise 👏

We have an action packed program this afternoon, with a range of workshops for trainers, students, and medical + allied health professionals.
