Kylie and Sandra headed down to Melbourne for the Women With Vision Conference, and what an incredible event it was!

They had the opportunity to hear from an inspiring panel of women across the optical industry, sharing insights on leadership, business, and their journeys within optics.

On November 10th we celebrated World Keratoconus Day 💙 This year, The Optical Nook joined the National Keratoconus Foundation to help spread awareness of Keratoconus, a condition which is often misunderstood.

Keratoconus is close to our hearts as we fit many patients with specialty RGP and scleral lenses that help restore sight when glasses just aren’t enough!

Our Principal Optometrist Kylie and Optical Dispenser Cayde helped spread awareness by handing out ice cream cones in store 🍦 and chatting with patients about regular eye exams and reducing eye rubbing habits.

We’re continuously grateful to the NKCF for their ongoing research and advocacy for Keratoconus! 👁️✨

At The Optical Nook, we’re proud to offer advanced care and expertise in complex custom hard contact lens fitting for keratoconus, using cutting-edge technology to achieve the best vision and comfort possible. We often work collaboratively with local Brisbane optometrists and ophthalmologists to design personalised lens solutions for patients with keratoconus to improve our patients’ quality of life.
