Our last GA day for the year. So glad we can offer this option for to those kids that need release of oral ties but can’t manage the procedure in the dental chair.

Release of Oral Ties under General Anaesthetic - last session for 2025

I haven’t been a big fan of GA for treatment of ties except when absolutely necessary.

When a child mouth-breathes, snores, has poor quality sleep and their exhaustion and misbehaviour is misunderstood, it’s tough on the family too.

And when there is a misdiagnosis as ADHD and medications scripted without prior Orofacial myofunctional evaluation… that’s a real shame.

General anaesthetic provides the opportunity for those children who otherwise can not have this important treatment in the dental chair to be able to benefit from better breathing and sleep. And if the consequences also better eating and speech then all the better.

FIVE boomerangs in one day!
We love our returning families - especially hearing how the older siblings are doing a couple years on from their releases 😍! - and yesterday we had FIVE of them in with their gorgeous new babies!
