CALL OUT TO FAMILIES + PHYSIOS: Our hard working Physio Jen is recruiting for the final research study of her PhD - healthcare co-design workshops for paediatric chronic pain!! 🎉This is important work that will help families and children so please check it out!

There are two ways that you can contribute to the final study of her PhD in the coming weeks:
1. Red poster ❤️: for children experiencing chronic pain (aged 10-14 years) and their parents.
2. Blue poster 💙: for Australian health professionals who have experience working with kids experiencing chronic pain.

Term 4 has flown by and it's Christmas holidays!! That means it's a fun time to be running a Physiotherapy Surf Group Intensive, before we all take a break to rest, re-set + re-charge! It’s been a fun week in the clinic celebrating Pip heading off to France for a year of living life with lots of snow, skiing, croissants and adventure! Our real life Paw Patrol pups also came to join the fun!

SCHOOL HOLIDAY GROUP THERAPY INTENSIVES: Come have some fun with us each day, in the 2nd week of school holidays! These programs combine the benefits of both therapy intensive goals + group activities! These are all abilities groups, with individual needs supported within sessions.
🏀Active Kids: working on individual gross motor skill goals, within athletics / sports style games plus also practice of specific running and gait skills on the track at UniSC (frame running + independent running)
🚦Power Driving Skills: for both established + new to power driving skills, working on independent access to power, safe driving for community and building individual goals within a fun, group based setting. We are lucky to have David Burns from ILS Kids helping us out with all things power!

LOOKING FOR ADMIN WORK?? We have a vacancy for a part time receptionist at our clinic. This would suit a range of skill backgrounds, from previous admin experience to someone looking to re-enter the workforce. The role includes supervision and training if needed, and the hours can be adjusted to fit in with family needs, likely being around 3 days / week. The role involves client reception, answering phone calls, processing the email inbox and helping clients / therapists manage appointment scheduling .

The government and the National Disability Insurance Scheme keep saying that the price cuts to allied health will make the NDIS fairer.

But we know that is not true for participants.

The NDIA and government are justifying these cuts with lies, mistakes, and inaccurate data. They know it is wrong and have acknowledged this to our professional association, but they are doing it anyway.

That is not fair.

The NDIA and the government need to stop the cuts and the price freeze on allied health services. TODAY! Before people and families with a disability are impacted by the devastating fallout of these changes. The NDIS cuts to allied health + impacts of these for clients we support, start tomorrow 1st July.

Today was a special day! We were incredibly proud to attend the Coast Council Community Biosphere Awards. The room was full of inspiring people who are all making a significant contribution to our local Sunshine Coast community - it was so rewarding + exciting to be part of a group committed to the wellbeing of our community. We were humbled to be nominated in the Community Group or Organisation of the Year category, for our work with families and children in the disability space. How lucky we are!

Also a shout out to who is our Young Citizen of the Year!! I remember meeting Fin when he was around 18 months of age, pulling up to stand and trying to pull my computer off my desk! Even back then it was clear you had lots to say + loved tech. It was inspiring to see you being recognised Fin for all the incredible work you are doing in our community + beyond! You are a role model and trailblazer - such well deserved recognition today!

Well done once again to Island Charity Swim organisers for a fantastic community event! It was the best morning being a part of it and beautiful conditions on the swim! Crystal clear to the bottom of the ocean the whole way! Congrats to all the swimmers who took part especially those who went around the island (epic!) and The Wingless Warrior - you smashed it once again! Cant wait for next year!!
