there was a quiet and a reverence for the dawn service this morning,
as the first light gently broke across the water in Cronulla.
there’s something about that stillness.
the way it asks you to pause,
to really take in what this day holds.
this morning, they spoke about service
and they spoke about sacrifice.
and there was something about sitting with those words,
letting them land,
without trying to move past them too quickly.
the sacrifice of our ANZAC brothers and sisters,
is not something that can be measured,
or compared,
or fully understood from where we stand.
it is vast.
it is profound.
it is enduring.
lives given.
futures never lived.
families forever changed.
and for those who returned,
the impact carried physically, psychologically,
In ways seen and unseen, long after the war has ended.
today is about remembering that.
holding it with care,
with respect,
with quiet gratitude.
lest we forget 🌺
