We’re taking a moment at Toma Health to acknowledge Primary Health Care Nurses, and the steady, often unseen work that keeps people well, supported, and heard 🤎

From prevention and education, to chronic care and home visits, this is care that meets people where they are, not just where the system is. It’s thoughtful, practical, and deeply human.

Our CEO and co-founder, Alexandra, is a nurse too, so this appreciation comes from lived experience. She knows the responsibility you carry, the emotional load, and the quiet pride in doing the job properly, even when no one is watching.

People-centred care isn’t a buzzword at Toma Health - It’s how we were built.

Thank you for every careful assessment, every honest conversation, and every extra moment you give when someone needs it most.
We see you. We value you. And we’re proud to stand alongside nurses who care the way you do - together we embrace the power ♥️🩵💛

On World Cancer Day, we’re recognising the strength of people living with cancer and reflecting on what people-centred care really means in practice.

Our Toma Health nurse and CEO has supported Amanda through her cancer journey. Alongside the clinical care, symptom management, and medical support, there’s something just as important woven into every visit: presence, dignity, and trust.

Care is shaped around Amanda, her needs, her pace, and her comfort. Some days that looks like focused clinical support. Other days it means slowing things down, listening on the harder days, noticing the small things, and making sure Amanda feels safe, respected, and cared for.

This is the kind of care we believe in. Not rushed. Not generic. Always human.

Because at Toma Health, people-centred care means walking beside someone through life’s most challenging moments, with respect, understanding and skill 🤎

February is RedFeb - a month to show some love to our hearts ❤️

Heart health touches real lives, and it hits close to home for the Toma Health team. Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in Australia, and behind the statistics are families, friends, and communities navigating big, life-changing moments.

RedFeb encourages awareness, and supporting research that helps prevent, detect, and treat heart disease, so more people can live fuller, healthier lives.

Here’s how we’re supporting this cause at Toma Health:
✔️ Encouraging regular heart health check-ins, especially if something doesn’t feel quite right
✔️ Supporting gentle, safe movement that suits your body and your stage of life
✔️ Promoting stress management, rest, and sustainable routines
✔️ Reminding people that small, consistent steps really do add up

You can also get involved by:
✔️ Wearing red for someone you love
✔️ Sharing why their heart matters to you
✔️ Taking a moment to care for your own heart, through movement, nourishment, rest, and regular check-ups

Let’s keep the conversation going and support better heart health, together.

FebFast 2026 - Do it for mental health!

A simple pause from alcohol, with a meaningful purpose.

A short break can make room for clearer thinking, better sleep, steadier moods, and more open conversations about mental health.

Small, intentional choices can make a real difference. Not just for individuals, but for families, carers, and the people around them.

The Toma Health support workers support people by helping keep routines steady, creating calmer days, and being a consistent, supportive presence. Most times that means practical help. Other times, it’s just listening or sitting alongside someone.

Whether you choose to go alcohol-free, cut back, or simply support someone else doing FebFast, it all counts 🤎

✔️Supporting correct use of prescriptions
✔️Checking expiry dates so nothing risky slips through
✔️Keeping an eye on side effects and changes

It’s a proactive approach that reduces confusion, builds confidence, and supports better outcomes.

When medications are managed well, life feels a little steadier, and that matters 🤎

Back to School! What’s really in a school bag? 🎒

Beyond books and lunchboxes, school bags carry growing bodies, busy minds, and the extra responsibility that often falls on parents and grandparents during back-to-school season.

Heavy backpacks, long hours sitting, changing routines, medication schedules, and early starts can all add up, for children and for the people supporting them every day.

A few gentle reminders as the school year gets underway 🤎

The Toma Health nurses, physios, and support workers help families in practical, steady ways - from medication routines and posture support to easing busy mornings and after-school fatigue 🤎

We’re here to support you in practical, steady ways, so the start of the school year feels a little lighter for everyone.

A gentle reminder from the team at Toma Health that the small check-ins really do add up 🤎

Those regular health checks are one of the simplest ways to look after yourself. They help catch things early, keep you feeling well, and offer reassurance along the way. Things like:

✔️ Annual health assessments
✔️ Heart health checks
✔️ Blood sugar and cholesterol checks
✔️ Vision and hearing checks

Life moves fast and it’s easy to put yourself last. Looking after these basics is a quiet way of caring for future you.

If you’re unsure where to begin or just want someone to guide you through it, Toma Health is here to make it feel simple, supportive, and centered around you 🤎

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to gently hold space for a conversation that matters 🤎

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when we have the right information and support early. This month is about awareness and reassurance.

This year’s message focuses on prevention and early detection. Prevention can look like staying up to date with HPV vaccinations, attending regular cervical screenings, and understanding early signs so nothing is missed.

How you can take part, in your own way:
✓ Have an open, caring conversation with someone you love about cervical health and HPV
✓ Book your cervical screening, or gently encourage someone close to you to do the same
✓ Share reliable information to help reduce fear and stigma around screening.

Health conversations should always feel safe, informed, and supportive, and that’s a value we hold closely at Toma Health.

If you ever have questions or need guidance on where to start our nurses can give you some guidance on where to start.
