FAREWELL and THANK YOU AMY 🥹💚

Last week we said goodbye to our incredible Community Engagement Coordinator, Amy, as she wrapped up her time at headspace Miranda.

Amy’s journey with us began back in 2018 when she joined the Youth Reference Group as a volunteer. Her dedication, creativity, and compassion quickly shone through, and a few years later she stepped into the role of Community Engagement Coordinator, a position she has absolutely made her own.

Over the years, Amy has created so many meaningful opportunities for young people across the Sutherland Shire, from building safe and welcoming spaces like Pridespace, to hosting inspiring community events, supporting schools and local services, and securing funding that continues to make a real difference. She’s also been a passionate mentor and leader, empowering our Youth Reference Group to bring their ideas to life and grow in confidence.

Amy’s warmth, energy, and care have left an unforgettable mark on our team, our centre, and the Sutherland Shire community. 💛

Thank you Amy, on behalf of the team and young people, we want to say thank you to the amazing person you are and wish you even more in life’s next adventure!

(p.s. pls enjoy her send off “soundtrack”) 🥹

Today, we pause to reflect and remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served.

Remembrance day is a great reminder to look out for each other during tough times and to stay connected to our community.

There’s no shame in talking it out. Reaching out for support is one of the bravest things you can do. 💚
Veterans, current serving members, and their families can contact Open Arms for 24-hour crisis and counselling support on 1800 011 046.

If you're looking for a bit of extra support anytime, visit eheadspace.org.au for online resources or for one-on-one support, you can call 1800 650 890 from 3pm to 10pm any day of the week.

If you need to speak to someone urgently:

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of having a stall at Jannali Moonrise Festival 💚

We had a great day in the youth zone, promoting our centre, LGBTQIA+ resources and a Photo Booth 📸

We were also so lucky to grab a .kooks Surfboard, which had drawings from young people on the day, it’s now in our youth room 🏄😎

Thanks to all who stopped by 🥰
